Welcome 2016!It’s a new year! What shall we do with 365 fresh, new days? How about making

a new friend? (Unless you already know every single person here at HC, there is a new friend to be made.) What about learning a new card or table game or trying an activity you’ve never tried before? Have you come to the Library with us or attended an ‘Acting Out’ program with Stephan? Why not come out to lunch with us? We are always looking for new suggestions of places to eat and things to do. Is there an activity you enjoyed while living at another senior community? Suggest that we try it here!

Many of our old and new friends will be back this year. Bonnie Lynd, our newest entertainer, will be here on the 11th, followed by Stephan on the 12th. Jana will be back with Drum Magic on the 27th. You haven’t lived until you’ve played African drums with 50 other people!

We also want to thank all of you who participated in the Holiday Door Decorating Contest in December. The hallways and doorways couldn’t have looked better thanks to you! Thanks, also, to all of you who came to our Holiday Family Night and many of our other programs during the holidays. We certainly had a joyous month and a holiday season to remember.

Let’s make 2016 just as memorable!

But they share one thing – a generous spirit, a desire to give back to their community and help others. Blood donors play an integral role in the delivery of modern healthcare. going and allows us to recall special moments and memories. Who doesn’t love nostalgia? Below is a play list of definitive artists and songs that everyone should own.

Landslide (Stevie Nicks): It is amazing how many beautiful songs have come out of bad relationships.

Jailhouse Rock (Elvis Presley): The quintessential Elvis. Crazy (Patsy Cline): When she first heard this song Patsy

Cline said that she couldn’t sing it but it became one of her signature pieces.

God Only Knows (Beach Boys): Paul McCartney called this song the most perfect pop song.

Yesterday (The Beatles): The original subject of this song believe it or not was ham and eggs.

Music can be a powerful teacher and healer – maybe it’s time to dust off some of those old records and relive favorite moments from the past.

Making a New Year’s resolution is like setting any other type of goal. You have to choose wisely if you want to achieve something significant. Remember that a good resolution, like a solid goal, usually has a few definable characteristics:
