The Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS)
was founded in 2004. Initially, TCELS was established as an
organization under the umbrella of the Office of Knowledge
Management and Development (OKMD), which houses a group
of public organizations under supervision of the Office of the
Prime Minister (OPM). On 27 May 2011, TCELS was elevated to a
public organization under the auspices of the Ministry of Science
and Technology.

for life sciences research, industry and business in Thailand.

• Promote and support the development of infrastructure
essential to life sciences research and industry.

Pharmaceuticals and BiotechOne of the key project under this area is pharmacogenomics. TCELS
found themselves as a co-promoter to continually support to the
Medical Genomic Center in order to promote patient awareness
and believe this personalized medicine can be used as a specific
diagnostic tool to help doctors and patients to understand more for
the diseases including the pre-emotive treatment to cure or relieve
those symptoms.
Natural ProductsTCELS has supported the project with the aim of developing new
products from Hb extract (Hevea brasiliensis) and create value added
for bioactives extract by supporting the development of skincare
products for clear skin and eye serum to remove wrinkles around
the eyes as well as value-added support for the development of
scalp care product. Research conducted by a team from the Prince
of Songkla University.
Biomedical EngineeringThe advancement in medical robotics is critical for improving the
country’s competitiveness. As a result, TCELS has established the
advanced medical robotics program, under the flagship policy of
the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Advanced Dental Technology Center (ADTEC) is a special program
operated under TCELS. ADTEC focuses on development of medical
devices under compliance with ISO 13485. ADTEC also provides
consultations on dossier preparation and application for CE Mark
and ISO 13485 certificate by using Common Submission Dossier
Template (CSDT).
Innovative Medical ServicesTCELS has established the Advanced Cell and Gene Therapies
Program and excellent service to Cell and Gene Innovation such as
