(SantaBarbara,CA–May12,2018)TheAmericanInstituteofArchitectsSantaBarbaraisproudtoannouncetheir10thanniversaryArchitecToursevent.Thisyear’stourwillcelebratethefabricofSantaBarbara’sveryowndowntown,includingsomeofitshistory,itshiddengems,anditsevolution.Thetourwillencourageattendeesto“RediscoverDowntownSantaBarbara:ImagineHowYouCanLive,Work&Play."SavetheDate-October6th-forthisuniqueevent!TherehavebeenmanyconversationsrecentlyaboutthechangingfaceofDowntownSantaBarbaraandhowbesttosupportitseconomicvitality,whilemakingitmorevibrant,livable,andwelcoming.TheRediscoverDowntownSantaBarbaratourexpandsthesediscussionsbyexploringDowntown’shousing,businessandentertainmentthroughitsarchitecture.ForArchitecTour’s10thanniversary,AIASantaBarbarawillofferparticipantsawalkingtourofdowntowntoexplorethisimportantandevolvingcenterofSantaBarbara.Eachofthe12selectedprojectswillshowcasethebestofdowntown–andwillincludeamixofcommercialandresidentialprojectsdemonstratinghowSantaBarbaralives,worksandplays.Ultimately,thetourwillillustratehowSantaBarbaracitizens,architects,andplannersarecomingtogethertocreateauniquedowntownexperiencethatencapsulatesthespiritofSantaBarbara.WeinviteparticipantstogetoutoftheircarsandexplorethehiddengemsofDowntownSantaBarbara.
