Take GOOD notes on the following slides:

GUSTAR = to be pleasing to (like)

me gusta

te gusta

le gusta

nos gusta

os gusta

les gusta

GUSTAR = to be pleasing to (like)I like = me gusta We like = nos gusta

You like = te gusta Y’all like = os gusta

He/she/ You (form.) like = le gusta

They/ You (form.pl.) like = les gusta

To say you like to do something use the formula:

me/te/le/nos/os/les + gusta + infinitive Ej. Me + gusta + comer.

To make a negative sentence, put NO in front of pronounEj. NO me gusta estudiar.

An infinitive verb is the UNCHANGED form of a verb. All infinitive verbs end in

–AR, -ER, -IR! Ej. : comer, escuchar, escribir, leer

Write 6 sentences with the following verbs and subjects on the next slide. Then check

answer key on the following slide. Example:

To say when you like SOME THING you have 2 options: GUSTA or GUSTAN

•If you like 1 thing it is GUSTAMe gusta la clase.

•If you like 2 things it is GUSTANMe gustaN las clases.

Practice writing that they like 1 thing:

(I) el chico/la chica(He) la hamburguesa

(We) la clase

(They) el libro

(I) los gatos(He) las hamburguesas

(We) las clases

(They) los libros

Practice writing that they like 2 things:

To add emphasis or clarity: Means to REALLY LIKE or tells who.

Put these in front of forms of GUSTAR

a mi a nosotros a ti a vosotrosa él a ellos

a ella a ellasa Usted a Ustedes

Ej. ¡A mi me gusta comer!= I REALLY LIKE to eat.

Now go back and add EMPHASIS to the beginning sentences you wrote. 1-6
