FINANCIALREPORT ¢ JimSimons,CouncilTreasurer,reportedthattherehadbeennoexpendituresduringthepreviousmonth.Fundbalances:Endowment:$145,695.83(nochange);Annual:$43,661.54(increaseof$85.40);Wetlands:$6,113.19(nochange).Theproposed2017-18budgetwassubmittedforapproval.DiscussionregardingamountrequiredforthePlanUpdateandimpactonbottomline.Capperrequestedmoreinformation/detail.Ervinobservedthattheallocatedamountsweregenerousandwouldlikelyresultin$10,000notbeingspent.Reedpointedoutthat"membershipincome"hadalreadybeenaccountedforin"donations"resultinginthe2017Add.columntotalling$25,548.(SeeAttachedrevisedbudget)

¢ Membership-PatLawrence,MembershipChair,saidthatReedandErvinscheduledameetingwithLauraHeintzelman(MCCF)toclarifylanguageontheremittanceenvelopetomakesureinstructionswerecorrect.TheMembershipletterisbeingdrafted.TaylorofferedtoaddinformationaboutthemembershipdrivetotheOnekamawebsitewhichwillincreasethenubmerofcontactsby1,000.Ervinwilldraftlanguageandsendittohim.

NEWBUSINESS ¢ WaterQualityandEnvironmentalMonitoring/e-coliUpdate-Reedsaidthatanewlydevelopedtesthadbeenreleasedwhichreportse-colitestingsamplesin6hoursinsteadoftheprevious24hourturnaround.Althoughtherehasbeennoevidenceofe-colipresentinPortageLake,Reedrecommendedthatwecontinuetestingashasbeendonesince2013atfoursites.TheTownshipbudgeted$5,000forthistesting.QuestionwasaskediftheLakeManagercouldperformthistask.

itwasreportedthatfivegovernmentalentities(Arcadia,BearLake,Pleasanton,OnekamaTownshipandBearLakeVillagehaveagreedtoseekfundingfromtheUSDepartmentofAgriculture,RurualDevelopmentfortheinstallationofamunicipalsewagesystem.Severalcommunitymeetingshavebeenscheduled.

OLDBUSINESS ¢ WatershedPlanUPDATE-Briefreportonactionstakentostageworkrequiredfortheupdate.ReedreportedthatitwasunlikelythatwereceivedthegrantweappliedforfromtheDEQastheannouncementsweretobemadeinDecember.Assumptionisthatwewillfootthebillourselvesorlookforadditionalsupportelsewhere.

¢ Swimmers'Itch-Noreportisavailableuntilfinaldataisanalyzed.Lawrencesaidthatitwasabouthalf-completeand,inhisview,therearesomeinconsistenciesalreadinthefindings.
