Plasmid mediated ESBLin Pseudomonas aeruginosa

• Group 2be (class A enzyme)

• Inhibited by clavulanate, tazobactam

• Hydrolyse ceftazidime, aztreonam

Key hole seen with Timentin /ceftazidime

Rare ESBL : PER-1, VEB-1

The ESBL producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa is also resistant to the aminoglycosides, gentamicin (CN 10), tobramicin (TOB 10), amikacin (AK 30) and ciprofloxacin (CIP 2.5).
