General Information about Casting:
In addition to the 2 Lead Players/Narrators (one male & one female), Pippin,
Fastrada, Berthe, Catherine, Charlemagne, Lewis and Theo, our plan is to cast 8
Sopranos, 8 Altos, 8 Tenors, & 8 Baritones. Ensemble members will also have
featured singing opportunities and acting roles. Children will also be cast at a later
date.
Since vocal ability is the major determinant in casting a musical like Pippin, many
of the outstanding actors from previous productions may not be selected for a
performing role in the spring musical. As always, you are encouraged to work on
the production staff. All contributions to the theatre are equally valuable! It
should also be noted that some females may be cast in male roles and ask to sing
the part of tenors or baritones.
Attendance conflicts need to be resolved prior to auditions. We understand that
some cast members will be completing their winter sports & will be unable to join
us for the first couple weeks of rehearsals. Anyone accumulating 3 unexcused
absences from rehearsals will be denied participation in this production.
(“Excused” absences are determined following ALHS attendance policy.)
EVERYONE must be at all rehearsals Tech & Heck Week.
Our plan is to also cast 8 female dancers, preferably with tumbling experience.
These ladies will have several “featured” performances in this production but will
not be in every ensemble number. All dancers may also not necessarily perform in
all dance numbers.
“TO BE EARLY IS TO BE ON TIME! TO BE ON TIME IS TO BE LATE. TO BE
LATE IS UNACCEPTABLE!”
