PepperdineUniversityviewseveryone(includingallstudents,employees,vendors,andguests)asapersonofinfiniteworth,createdbyGod,deservingtobetreatedwithdignityandrespect.Thus,theUniversityprohibitsitsstudents,employees,vendors,orguestsfromengaginginanyformofSexualMisconduct.

SexualMisconductincludes:

• sexdiscrimination• sexualharassment• sexualassault• domesticviolence• datingviolence• stalking

Allmembersofthecommunityshouldunderstand:

1) thatSexualMisconductisillegal,contrarytoPepperdine’sCodeofEthics,andinoppositiontoitsChristianmission;

2) thebasicdefinitionsanddynamicsinvolvedineachformofmisconduct;3) thattherearepeopleattheUniversitypreparedtoreceivereportsfromvictims;and4) thatthereareresourcesavailabletohelpsupportvictims.

UnderCalifornialaw,theUniversityisrequiredtoimmediatelyorassoonaspracticablypossible,disclosetolocallawenforcement,anyreportofsexualassault,whethercommittedon-or-offcampus.IfthestudentcommunicatestotheUniversitythatheorshewouldlikehisorheridentitywithheld,theUniversitywillnotdisclosethestudent’sortheallegedperpetrator’sidentityinitsreporttolawenforcement.
