Resitting candidates: carrying forward SLE resultsCan students carry forward their Spoken Language Endorsement (SLE) result from their previous attempt at 4EA1/4EB1?

Yes, if the student achieved ‘Pass’, ‘Merit’ or ‘Distinction’.

If the student has sat GCSE English Language or an International GCSE with one awarding organisation but is resitting with Edexcel, can they still carry forward the SLE result?

No, they can’t.

How do I make an entry for a candidate who wants to carry forward their SLE?

Enter the student using the correct entry code transfer option from the UK or International Information Manual.

13

Private/home-educated candidatesPrivate candidates can be entered for the SLE, although it is more usual for private candidates not to select coursework or SLE options.

The centre accepting the entry with SLE must be willing to undertake the SLE with the private candidate. The centre will be contacted after the entry has been made to confirm that they can carry out the SLE with the candidate.
