Framing the Vision:Seeing Things New

Where there is no vision, the people

will perish…”

(Proverbs 29:18)

FRAMING THE VISION:

SEEING THINGS NEW

In your current ministry

setting, what is the one thing

you are most proud of?

That is, what do you do?

Not, how many do it?

Ministry which focuses on standing up for,

or on behalf of, others.

Ex. – Guardian ad litum

ADVOCACY

Ministry which focuses on providing care to a

particular population.

Ex. – after school care and tutoring programs

CARE

Ministry which focuses on developing a

relationship with others.

Ex. – Big Brothers/Big Sisters

of the other to do ministry

CARROTS OR STICKS

• the spirit of wisdom and understanding,

• the spirit of counsel and might,

• the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the

Lord,

• the spirit of joy in God’s presence,

both now and forever.

BAPTISMAL GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

“He has told you, O mortal, what is good;

and what does the Lord require of you but

to do justice,

and to love kindness,

and to walk humbly with your God?”(Micah 6:8)

Because I am baptized I will:

live among God’s faithful people,

hear the word of God and share in the Lord’s

Supper,

proclaim the good news of God in Christ through

word and deed,

serve all people, following the example of Jesus,

and strive for justice and peace in all the earth.
