OBIEE 11.1.1.5 Installation Scenario:

JDK Installation: IBM JDK 6 (SR9 FP1 or higher)

Create Schemas using Repository Creation Utility (RCU)

Install Weblogic 10.3.4+ on /obiee/Oracle/Middleware

OBIEE Installation : Install Software only on the same Weblogic Home /obiee/Oracle/Middleware

This installation type installs just OBIEE binaries which you must later configure.(Use this installation type for 64 bit machines or IBM AIX)

OBIEE Configuration: using config.sh

(This step will create domain containing WebLogic Admin Server and one or more managed server)

Note: OBIEE 11.1.1.5 installs Essbase Client by default.

Create Schemas using Repository Creation Utility (RCU)

As RCU is certified only with Linux and Windows, download Windows source to your client, extract it then run $RCU_SOFTWARE/bin/rcu.bat

Install Weblogic 10.3.5 on /obiee/Oracle/Middleware

$JDK1.6/bin/java -d64 -jar wlsXXX_generic.jar

OBIEE Installation :

Error: Create ASInstance failed:

Solution:Make sure hosts file has entry for 127.0.0.1 localhostYou can’t continue the configuration, you’ll have to abort, remove $OBI_HOME/user_projects/domains/bifoundation_domain/*$OBI_HOME/instance/*

Web Application running on Admin Server (default port 7001)

How to Start/Stop the services

Login by “dbmgr” OS user:

To start the services:

./startdb.sh

./startobiee.sh

Logs for this session is located on /home/dbmgr

To stop the services:

./stopobiee.sh

./stopdb.sh

OBIEE Development Client side tools:

Note: OBIEE 11.1.1.5 Installs Essbase Client by default /obiee/Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_BI1/products/Essbase/EssbaseServer/bin

As OBIEE Development tools aren’t certified by with AIX, we’ll have to download the windows client side tools. Install it by running .exe

Now install OBIEE Client tools on your PC as the development tools are not supported on AIX (using exe)Administration toolsFile New repository enter any password for the repositoryDatasource: Essbase:
