OBIEE 11g Complete

Installation (Simple Install).

Software Used.

y Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0y JDK 6.Xy Repository Creation Utility (11.1.1.3.3)y Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 (11.1.1)

Steps followed

y Install JDK 6.5y Install Databasey Install RCUy Install Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g

Installing JDK 6

1) Click the .exe file (jdk-6u11-nb-6_5-windows-ml)

2) Click next and Accept the Check Box in second page

3) Map the location for Installation.

y Takes few miniuts5) Installation Completed now click Finish

6) We will get an icon on our Desktop

First Step of Pre request of OBIEE 11g Completed.

Install Database

y Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0

Install Oracle Repository Utility

This is a Java application, like the Universal Installer, that sets up one or more schemas that

need to be in place for the products we are installing.

1) To Star RCU installation Double click the rcu.bat file which is under RCUhome location, onceclicked it will ask for Display resolution, just click Continue

2) Welcome page of RCU

3) Click for Create for create and load component schemas into database

4) Give the correct Database Host name, Port and Service name- These details we will get itfrom Oracle Database which we created before. And the user must have the SYSDBA Privilege

5) Once we click next button the RCU will check the prerequisites and popup a Error which isrelated to Database Character sets. Just click Ignore to continue.

6) After this checking process click ok

7) Create a new Prefix for those components which this RCU going to create, default prefix is DEV.8) And choose the Schemas for particular BI or choose all Repository components.

9) In this below screen I have particular checked Business intelligence Platform

10)After the above step RCU Creation will Check the Component Prerequisites it takes timeaccording to our Components we chosen before. If there any error pops up Ignore it.

11)Once Checking Prerequisites completed click Ok.

12)If there any Components Prerequisites fails it shows like below.

13)Click the Use same passwords for all schemas and give the password.

14)Give custom variable values and variables and click next

15)Summary of Schema Tablespaces. Now click next.

16)Any tables are exist it will overwrite. Click ok to overwrite it.

17)It will check for the tablespaces

18)In this summary page it will shows all the Schema owner and Tablespaces type, Tablespacesname and Database Details. Click Create.

19)The Repository Creation Utility Creates those schemas we chosen. This creation process takeslittle more time than previous components checks.

Now the RCU Creation process completed.

OBIEE 11g Installation.

1) Run the setup file which is under Disk1 on BIHOME. It will take few seconds to respond.

2) Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Business Intelligence Installer

3) Welcome Page, Click next.

4) Select Installation Type Single Install

5) Prerequisites checks

6) Chose a Specific Location for BIHOME.

7) Give a Username and Password for Administrate Weblogic server.

8) Choose the Components to configure, Click next a Windows Security Alert will pop up.

9) Click Allow Access

10)Database Details Give the correct Connection string with hostname, and give name of theBIPLATFORM Schema Username and Password (which we created in RCU).

11)It will ask Email ID for Security Updates. Skip this process

12)Summary screen will show the components list ready for installation. There is a option toSave this setup, if need save else click Install button to start Installation.

13)Installation Progress started.

14)After Installation Process Configuration Progress will start.

15)Once Configuration Progress reach 100% Click next. (if components fails in ConfigurationProgress we can Configure particular component later after installation)

16)Successful Installation ends with this screen with summary details of Configured components.

17)Once completed Oracle Business Intelligence Login Page will pops up in explorer.
