NorthShoreNeighbourhoodHouse-EdibleGardenProject Position:Farmhand,full-time(seasonalMarchtoOctober) TheNorthShoreNeighbourhoodHouse(NSNH)isacharitableorganizationthathasbeenoperatingontheNorthShoreofVancouverforover75years.TheEdibleGardenProject(EGP)isaprogramoftheNSNHthatbuildscommunitythroughgrowinglocalfoodontheNorthShore. AsourFarmhandyouwillworkonoursocialenterpriseurbanfarmoperationsatLoutetFarmandtheSutherlandSchoolyardMarketGarden.YouwillreporttotheEGPManagerandassistourFarmerwiththeirdaytodayfarmoperations,volunteerandinterncoordination,communityoutreach,sitemaintenance,harvestingandmarketing. • Assistwithdaytodayfarmoperations. • Keepaccuratedailyrecordsoffarmactivities.• Assistincoordinatingcorporatevolunteerteams,tours,farmgatesalesandcommunitywork.• AssistFarmertocoordinate3-5farminterns1-3daysperweek,and2-20volunteersweekly. • Assistwiththemaintenanceoffarmsite(s)tothestandardsdefinedbyLicensetoUseagreements.• Maintainandbuildpositiverelationshipswiththecommunity.

REQUIREDSKILLS&EXPERIENCE:

• 1+yearsexperienceinamixedvegetabledirectmarketfarmenterprise. • 1+yearsexperienceincustomerservice,cashhandling,orrunningfarmmarketsales. • Experiencesupervisingorcoordinatinggroupsof2-20volunteers. • Excellentcommunicationskills,andagreatteamplayer. • Abletoworkweekendsandsomeevenings. • Abilitytobend,squatandliftupto50+lbssafely. • ReasonableproficiencywithMicrosoftOfficesuite,GoogleDrive,Gmail,andabilitytotrackdata.

• Reasonableproficiencyusingpowerdrills,saws,andbasicconstructiontools. • 2+yearsexperienceworkinginanon-profitenvironmentorsocialenterprise. • 2+yearsexperienceinoutdoor/experientialeducation. • FoodsafeCertification. • Validdriver’slicenseandaccesstoavehicle. • Apiarycertification.
