Newsletter: Term 2 Week 2 (8/5/2018)
Dress to Impress Congratulations to the P&C for running such a
wonderful event on Saturday night. The organising
committee has certainly set a very high standard for
any future events! The event took a huge amount of
preparation, a lot of generosity from our community
and support from everyone who sold tickets across
town. The band kept everyone moving until the wee
hours and the best dressed Dazza and Chazza were
the talk of the night. With a little bit of canny
thinking as well as assistance of people who cleaned
up on Sunday meant the recycling of bottles and cans
produced 57 cartons of milk for the breakfast bar.
Well done to all and congratulations to all of the
auction winners.

From The Principal Last week in assembly I announced that the skill I
will be learning this term is to master the Rubik’s
cube. It was difficult deciding from the list of
suggestions I received which skill to select, however
as I said in assembly, I have wanted to be able to
complete the cube since Primary school. I will
continue to investigate how to learn this new skill
and be sharing my progress each Friday in Assembly.
Thank you to Mrs Paton for lending me some small
cubes to use with children at recess.
Riverina Debating at DNPS
Yesterday we had participants from 8 schools across
our network take part in the debating skills
workshop. Mrs Hunter once again did a wonderful job
in producing a very rewarding day for students. The
adjudicators were extremely engaging and able to
ensure all students finished the day with improved
knowledge and skills in debating. Thank you also to
Maureen for her scone perfection once again.

A term of Fairy Tales Students in K/1TP and KHB are reading fairy tales
this term and I think they would like to find a golden
goose as a number of children seem s quite
impressed at their beans they have planted. I will
look forward to arriving at school one morning to see
a bean vine reaching through the clouds to the
Giant’s castle, as long as they share the golden eggs.
Fee fo fi fum I smell the blood of a K/1TP’um!
