Girls’ Northeroos Topple Hay Public

Report by Tabitha Napier

On Wednesday, our Northies girls’ soccer team went off to play Hay at their home grounds for

round 2 of the PSSA soccer knockout. Some of us thought they would beat us by a mile- but they

didn’t! Our northtastic girls won with a convincing score of 4-1. Choosing which position each of

us took, we all chose pretty well. We all co-operated and worked as a team to get the ball to our

scoring end of the field like we’d been doing it our whole lives! Well done to our goal kickers-

Chloe Paton who scored 2 goals, Hannah Dunmore with 1 goal and Holly Amor with 1 goal. Thank

you to our parent drivers, Jane Frazer, Geoff Mulham, Rachael Napier and our amazing coach

Miss Smith who also took a few girls. Next week our girls are competing against Leeton at our

home ground at Rotary Park. Well done team! (Photos from Rachel Napier)

Netballers Knocked Out by Southern Cousins

Report by Sophie Willis

The Northies netball team went off to play a good

game of netball against South last Tuesday. The

Northtastic team of Chloe Paton, Sophie Willis, Holly

Amor, Samantha Hughes, Charlotte Strong, Olivia

Manzin, Jemma Smith, Sophie Murray and Kira

Dickie, showed some great skill throughout the game.

In the first quarter our Northies scored 1 goal with

South showing great defence.

Second quarter scoring 2 goals, we had picked up our

game a little more but we were still behind.

Moving on to the third quarter we were attacking the

ball and taking every chance that we had, leaping for

the ball. It really payed off and we scored 3 goals!

By now Mrs Hunter barely had any nails left. Our last

quarter, was definitely our best but we couldn’t quite

get all of our goals in the net, scoring 2 goals. It was

a tough game, but we played amazingly ending with a

score of 8-12, South’s way. Thank you to all parents

that drove and to Mel Dudley for time keeping. But

most of all, a big thanks to Mrs Hunter, our super

coach.

X-Country Team Does it Tough in Wet Weather

athletes managed to qualify for the DPSSA team

which will head to the Riverina carnival, in the coming

weeks:

Eimear Gogarty-4th

Chloe Paton-3rd

Charlotte Strong-1st

Charlie Dudley-2nd

Hannah Dunmore-1st

Matilda Dickie-4th

“Hey Harry!” said Luke. “Do you want to take Ben for

a run?”

Luke had a dog called Ben. He got Ben when he was

four. He was a pup, off a farm nearby. Luke and

Harry were best friends and they went everywhere

together. Harry’s backyard was enormous, three

times bigger than a normal one. Luke lived on a farm

of about 2000 acres. He had been everywhere on his

farm, except for a paddock at the back. In that

paddock the grass was always green. The trees were

always enormous and there was lots of feed for

cattle. Luke wondered why his father never let him

Once they got there they found a rope. So, instead

of using fishing lines they used the rope. They put a

The Four Humongous Dinosaurs

Late one afternoon, the four dinosaurs went for a

stroll. On the walk, the mummy dinosaur said, “It is

time to move out and get your own houses!”

The first dinosaur built a house out of paper. The

second dinosaur built a house out of cotton candy.

The third dinosaur built a house out of garbage. The

last humongous dinosaur built his house out of toilet

paper.

A little fly came along. He was a super strong little

fly and he had a chainsaw. He chopped the first

house down! The humongous dinosaur ROARED and

ran to his brother’s cotton candy house, cracking the

ground as he ran. The fly fell in the crack and died!

The dinosaurs laughed and lived happily ever after.

The end!

WHAT’S BEHIND THE DOOR?

STORIES FROM 3/4H

Xavier woke up and decided to go to a waterpark. It

was really bright when he got out of bed. He got

dressed in his favourite suit. He got in the car and

drove to the closest waterpark….

The strangest thing happened. He opened the door

to the water park and there, was a huge pipe sticking

out. Xavier wanted to go into the pipe and before he

knew it,… plop! He was getting pulled into the pipe.

Xavier had just fallen into a deep slumber. Swish,

swash, swish, swash! His head hurt from falling on

the beach. Wait, this was no beach, it was an island.

It was just like the movie that he had watched

yesterday. He felt so stupid.

He thought about it, and decided to make a fire. He

got heaps of bark for the fire and some for shelter.

Finally, the fire was lit. Then, suddenly, SLUMBER!

Plop! Plop!

“Rain!” Xavier shouted. “Rain! Freshwater finally! A

boat!” Everything was going great.

He called out to the boat and the crew came over.

He went home, well, actually, to the hospital. At the

hospital, they said that all the salt water was good

for him. Xavier had a goldfish’s memory and forgot

about yesterday.

Then, amazingly, on the next day,it happened all over

again.

One afternoon, I was riding to my friend Will’s house

because he got this new video game where you smash

gnomes with a sword. When I got there, I knocked

on the door. No one was answering.

So, I opened the door to see if he was home, but

when I opened the door, there were all of these

little gnomes running around. I thought Will was

trying to prank me, until I saw him stuck up on the

roof. The gnomes had come alive and jumped out of

the TV screen. They had big, black beards and these

massive hats with big dots and squiggly lines.

So I went to get a ladder to get Will down, but the

gnomes were in the way. Quickly, I thought they

hate swords…..

Phew! I’ve been climbing this mountain for hours,

possibly even days, months! Wait! Let me guess-you

are wondering why I was even climbing it anyway?

Am I right? I knew it. Well, let me tell you, right

from the beginning.

I was invited to a party on the 21st of May. The

invitation didn’t say who had sent the invite. It just

said that you were invited to a party up in the

mountains, and also, it said that my name was Alice.

Well, my name is not Alice. It is Emilia Emilia Johns.

The person that sent the invite has no sense of

taste, because his or her invite was brown and black,

and all the colours that I hate.

Anyway, I got the invite and off I went….

Knock! Knock! Frankie heard a knock on the door. He

BABY TALES

EXCERPTS FROM 3/4H

One day, my friend came over and we bounced on the

trampoline.

Later, we went back inside, but we forgot to close

the door, and a very annoying baby crawled in. We

thought it was cute at first. But, when it got to the

bathroom, there was trouble. The baby flooded the

Why did he do it?

I told my family, and they were angry. I went to the

It was a very stormy night. Weirdly, it was actually

summer. My friend, Matilda was at my house for a

month because her parents were on a romantic

getaway; which is good, because we’re technically

having a sleepover for a month.

You’re probably thinking,it is not a sleepover, be-

cause we have to go to school, but you see, it’s the

summer holidays, so BOOM! Ha! Ha! Yay!.. Back to

the story.

Matilda and I heard something. It sounded like a

baby crying. Me and Matilda got our gumboots and

raincoats and went out to see what was going on. We

opened the door. A baby zoomed in.

At first, Matilda and I bought the baby was cute and

funny. Then, another baby zoomed in. The two babies

looked exactly like each other. They stood up and

said,” we will get our revenge. We will destroy you!”….

One day, my mum said that I have to babysit my

baby sister.

After one hour, I took my baby sister to have her

nap. The problem was, my baby sister, Amy wouldn’t

go to sleep! So, I went to sleep instead.

When I woke up, Amy had put mashed up spinach

everywhere in the kitchen. Also, she was watching

the TV. Now, I had had enough.

I put up posters that said,’ COME AND GET A FREE

BABY!’ Then, I took her to an old shop.

“I would like to hang up a poster to sell my baby

sister, please.” I said to the shopkeeper.

“Alright then,” said the shopkeeper.

So, I hung my poster up.

“Now it’s time to go home,” I said to myself.

When I got home, my baby sister was crying, so I
