When Mission was Built (Founded)
• My mission San Buenaventura was found on March 31,1782 by Junipero Serra.
Mission Site
• The mission was located near an Indians village mit squanaqar with about 500 in habitants .
• San Buenaventura 70 miles of Los Angeles in the city of Ventura, which developed around the mission.
Father Junipero Serra
• The founder of my mission is Father Junipero Serra. He died on Aug,28 1784 and he was buried in the church. But before that in November 1713 Miguel was born to poor framers in Majorca, an island off the coast of Spain. Though his parents weren’t educated, they wanted their son to learn to read and write.

the mission had over 41,ooo animals. They had 23,400 cattle, 12,144 sheep, and 4,493 horses.
Indians Joining this Mission
• The friendly Chumash Indians were happy to live at the mission. The Chumash were expert boat builders which was helpful as the mission sites on the coast. The Chumash where one of the California Indian group that dwelled along the southern coast of Alta, California.
Population
• The population was 1,328 in 1816. During the mission era there were 1,107 marriages preformed at San Buenaventura.
Significant Events
• There feast day is on July15th. The feast day falls on a weekday, Monday through Friday.
Current Use of the Mission
• My church was used for Christian and Catholic and it’s in Los Angeles. What they said who are these “teachers of faith.”
What I Liked Best
• The thing that I liked best about my mission is where it was at, the ocean and the view.
