The Middle School is situated on the IC main campus in a building called Sage Hall. Other important locations on the upper campus are the Middle School Annex, cafeteria, the Secondary School (Rockefeller Hall), and Thompson Hall which houses the infirmary, the Business Office and the President’s Office.

The vision of International College (I.C.) is to inspire learners of today to
be global citizen leaders of tomorrow.
• Mission
The mission of International College is to educate young men and women
to be capable of initiative and critical thinking, who will serve as role
models in a global society. The curriculum aims for excellence at all levels
and embraces the education of the whole person. Graduates of I.C. will
have developed self-discipline, problem-solving abilities, social
responsibility, self-confidence, and awareness of, and respect for, the
interdependence of nations in all their diversity.

Objectives
International College provides a safe and secure environment where students develop
personal qualities and skills leading to international mindedness, intellectual curiosity,
effective communication, creative expression, community building, responsible citizenship,
and an appreciation for cultural diversity.
I.C. curricula have the following objectives: To promote the development of the whole
person
Academically,
Through developing individual potential and an attitude of life-long learning as a result of a
balanced and rigorous program, in three languages, that strives for excellence in the
Lebanese Baccalaureate, the French Baccalaureate, the College Preparatory Program and the
International Baccalaureate.

individual differences and for the environment;

Through intra- and extra-curricular activities that develop civic and global awareness,

This is a pioneer class in music that aims at helping
talented students and lovers of music to become
proficient in the art of Music and performance.
Technique, concepts, and music reading skills are taught
through active participation in performing quality music of
different periods. Repertoire is carefully chosen considering
the singing/playing ability of the students. Students perform
in concerts and performances.

CREATE THEATRE THROUGH ARTISTIC COLLABORATION

• Minimum Requirements: to qualify for promotion to the Secondary School, students in 4th CPP must meet all of the following minimum requirements:
• Three final averages of 70 and two of 65 in five of the following subjects:-
• Arabic, English, French, Math, Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics combined), Social Studies
• A 70 is mandatory in English
• No grade below 60
• AND a general average of 70.
Presentation grade:
The Middle School will continue
with the practice of allocating 5% of every
exam grade to presentation in languages
and to language precision and presentation
in all other subjects. The S.S. department
will allocate 5% at the lower levels and 8%
at the upper levels and 10% in brevet
geography as per the official brevet
grading key.
Participation and Classroom Presence

This will include, but is not limited to, class

Exemption From Final Exams Exemption from final exams for all subjects applies to the classes of 1st/6ème,
2nd/5ème, 3rd/4ème, grade 10 CPP (4th H.S.) and students of the French Baccalaureate (non-Lebanese program) in 3ème. Brevet classes may be exempted from final exams in the 3rd language only.
• Students will be exempted from final exams according to the following policy:
• A candidate for exemption must acquire a systematically progressing
average, or must retain a stable outstanding average.
• The cumulative average of the candidate (over the three terms) must exceed
the class average as indicated below:

Please note that: • ALL students on disciplinary probation

(Such cases will be cleared with the Director before a final decision is taken.)

Community Service and the
Citizenship evaluation
Community service is compulsory for every student and is project based. Every level will complete a project appropriate with the age group. In addition to that, this year, we will be observing students’ behavior with respect to social interaction, volunteering, care for the environment, cleanliness… a number of characteristics and values that lead to responsible citizenship. Feedback from the advisor / teachers / supervisors / administrators… will be considered with the Community Service evaluation and will appear on the grade report as a citizenship rubric.
