French Horn

• Middle / Low Voice, Extreme Range

• Potential College Scholarship

Trombone

• Low Voice

• Only instrument that uses a slide to change notes

• Doubles in Jazz Band

Baritone / Euphonium

• Low Voice• Same range as trombone but with valves

Tuba

• Very Low Voice

• Bass of the Band

• Uses stand, you don’t have to hold it up

Mallet Percussion

• Same as piano / keyboard configuration• Melodies and Harmonies can be played• Primary focus of beginning percussion

Battery Percussion

• Many instruments to learn• Based on 40 P.A.S. rudiments• Need ability to share turns with others
