Share a News Story

• Just like last class, please tell us about any news story you’ve heard recently.

• Get into the habit of regularly visiting your favorite news websites so that you always have something to share with the class.

Jigsaw Reading Activity• Work with a partner that you have not worked

with before (move seats if necessary).• You and your partner will receive different

articles and vocabulary dittos.• Read your article and match the vocabulary

words to the correct definitions as you go.• Try to figure out the correct definitions based on

the reading.• Do not talk to your partner yet.

Discuss Your Article

• Turn your article upside down.• Take turns discussing the articles you read. Tell

your partner as many details from the article as you can remember.

Answer Questions

• Answer the questions based on what your partner told you about their story.

• If you need to, you can ask your partner the question.

• If you need to, you can also refer to your article now.

• Give me your vocabulary matching & your partner questions.

• Take a homework slip.
