ANCIENT GREETING

This is how I will greet you before each class.

Click on the speaker to hear why I will do this.

7

In this class you will be

reading the Bible for yourself.

Someone will not be telling you

what the Bible says.

Why is that important?

Consider this question:

What was the fruit that Adam and

Eve ate from the tree of the

knowledge of good and evil?

Did you say…….

9

What does the Bible say?

10

Answer:

The Bible doesn’t say.(Genesis 3:6)

6 So when the woman saw that the tree was

good for food, and that it was a delight to

the eyes, and that the tree was to be

desired to make one wise, she took of its

fruit and ate, and she also gave some to

her husband who was with her, and he ate.

Why do we think

it was an apple?

Sunday School

PicturesArt or images in the

Church

…because

it has

always

been told

that way?

OR

OR

So, why is it important to readthe Bible for yourself and not have

someone tell you what it says?

13

So that you can know for the certain

the difference between

“man’s truth” and “God’s truth”.

Let’s explore this question:

WHY do we study the Bible?

Here is what the LORD tells us in John 20:31,

“These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the

Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life

in His Name.”

Unlike other books, The Bible does not

have a message that changes with time.

History, Math, Science and English change with time

and new discoveries.

The message changes people. It brings them to faith while giving

comfort and strength in this life.

The more we read, the more we grow in the relationship He wants with us.

The message of God is LIVING.

What is the “Ancient Greeting?”

What was the fruit….?

Why do we study the Bible?
