7

In this class you will be

reading the Bible for yourself.

Someone will not be telling you

what the Bible says.

Why is that important?

Page 8: Lesson 1 unit 1 introduction

Consider this question:

What was the fruit that Adam and

Eve ate from the tree of the

knowledge of good and evil?

Page 9: Lesson 1 unit 1 introduction

Did you say…….

9

Page 10: Lesson 1 unit 1 introduction

What does the Bible say?

10

Page 11: Lesson 1 unit 1 introduction

Answer:

The Bible doesn’t say.(Genesis 3:6)

6 So when the woman saw that the tree was

good for food, and that it was a delight to

the eyes, and that the tree was to be

desired to make one wise, she took of its

fruit and ate, and she also gave some to

her husband who was with her, and he ate.

Why do we think

it was an apple?

…because

it has

always

been told

that way?

OR

OR

Page 13: Lesson 1 unit 1 introduction

So, why is it important to readthe Bible for yourself and not have

someone tell you what it says?

13

So that you can know for the certain

the difference between

“man’s truth” and “God’s truth”.

Page 14: Lesson 1 unit 1 introduction

Let’s explore this question:

WHY do we study the Bible?

Page 15: Lesson 1 unit 1 introduction

Here is what the LORD tells us in John 20:31,

“These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the

Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life

in His Name.”

Page 16: Lesson 1 unit 1 introduction

Unlike other books, The Bible does not

have a message that changes with time.

History, Math, Science and English change with time

and new discoveries.

Page 17: Lesson 1 unit 1 introduction

The message changes people. It brings them to faith while giving

comfort and strength in this life.

The more we read, the more we grow in the relationship He wants with us.

The message of God is LIVING.

What was the fruit….?
