Refining My Findings
What are people trying to do? What are their goals People are trying to find the best price, a simpler way to book flights and accommodation instead of jumping from one website to another, clear cancellation and refund policies, confirmation about finalization of their booking, translations for other languages.
The time they spend in shopping for airline tickets and
accommodations is essential in their search. It takes
them longer time to find all those features.
What do I think is motivating them?
Last minute business travelers cannot book their flights quickly enough due to many features on the travel websites.
Define the Problem not the Solution
- Search Domestic Flights - Search International Flights - Choose a specific Airline - Choose any Airline - Use Customer’s Reviews - Find the closest Accommodations - Find the closest Restaurants
- Pay by Credit Card - Pay by Google Pay - Pay by Apple Pay - Use App in English - Use App in Other Language - Get Booking Confirmation - Cancellation and Refund Policy

Problem the users are facing:
Users cannot find best deal online tickets quickly
enough when it comes to booking their business
trips due to many features listed on the travel
websites.
Card Sorting: Before and After
Before After
Observation: What I heard from the user was somehow what I expected but in two or three areas the user was confused so I have to fix those pain points. Insights: I learned from my observation that I need to make all the screens clear with appropriate information for the specific need. Design Recommendations: The design is clear and to the point according to the user test but needs some additions. Moving Forward: Yes, for the checkout part the user recommended that if he is already a member or sings up then all his information like name and address and phone and email should show at the check out screen without asking him to enter those again.

Introduction: My name is Palwasha Safi and the purpose of today’s test is to observe if my design fits the user’s goals. I will be mostly observing with minimum interjections during the test which will happen occasionally only if needed. Observation: Can you please tell me about booking your flights for business trips? What do you enjoy the most about booking online? Anything you enjoy the least? Tasks: Imagine you are leaving for a business trip in two days. Walk me through how you would book your trip? See if you don’t need an accommodation how would you plan your trip? Show me if you go with a group of coworkers and are assigned to book the trip how would you do that?
Usability Test Discussion Guide
Screens for usability tests:
Usability test reflection
The main pain points and highlights I found were the fillable sections that were not clickable which made all three users lost and confused. After observing the users tests I found out to revise the prototype and make all the fillable clickable to the next screens with place holders so the flow of the booking a ticket will be smooth and simple. v I will make all the fillable areas clickable linking to the next screen with some place holders. v I would also link the home page to the previous page in case someone go to home screen accidentally he/she should be able to go back to the screen they were on. v I would also make a clickable each item listed on the flights or flight + hotel screens not only on the select button so the user will easily go to the next step.
