When I see in the eyes of the participants the bright of joy and the heart full, that’s when I know that we accomplished something great. Sometimes we don’t realize the importance of these projects, but they really make a deep impact in many people lives, which is only possible due to the support of European Commission and all the peo-ple and organizations involved. So, thank you all (participants, organizations, team, supporters, European Commission, etc.) for making dreams come true! It was an honor to be part of this dream.

Sérgio Gonçalves

With these activities we had involved directly in the project 562 participants from different backgrounds. With this result, for Check-In was a big success and this was possible because we had a profes-sional team and gave their best for the success of the project. For us it was important to believe in our dreams and find the best team to do it.

ECE coordinator

António GomesPresident of Check-IN Association

As coordinator of this project I have to say that it was a pleasure to do it and the results and achievements were amazing. To gather 2 continents, Europe and Latin America, to cooperate, share, and work together was such a challenge and growing process. I’m proud of the commitment and involvement of all organizations and participants, and how they cooperate to achieve the objectives.

The project ECE – Empowerment, Creativity and Entrepreneurship was the big gest project for Check-In Association. The project started with one dream and after spoke with our partners the dream become true. During 12 months with our 9 international partners from two different continents, we organized 2 mobility projects (Beja, Portugal and Fortleza, Brazil), 13 Workshops and 9 National Fairs.

Check-IN - Portugal - Coordinator organization

The initiative of Check-IN Association - Cooperation and Development, was born in January 2009, from young people that had in common the experience or the will to be actively engaged in the areas of international youth mobility, in youth volunteering and non-formal education. On the 9th of April, 2010, Check-IN was formally constituted, with the aim to organize activities at local, national and international level, aimed at young people between 16 and 30 years. Since then, Check-IN is focused, in a sustainable way, on these issues in underprivileged areas of the country in access to information for young people, in close cooperation with public and private entities in areas of interest to young people. We emphasize outreach and training to young people, development of youth volunteering projects, including European voluntary service projects and other youth mobility and exchanges, seminars, and other meetings.

Because of the recognized creativity that Latin American countries are known for, it became an opportunity to develop a bridge between Europe and Latin America and achieve an enhanced result. The project was foreseen to reach a large number of youngsters through the activities, the website and the documentary.

The strong partnership and network of an international team, that was created with the ECE project, is continuously working to cooperate in these and other topics and help each other sharing ideas, projects, methods and tools. The project maintains a great impact on the life of all participants. At local level it contributes to the recognition of each organization and the development of their work with the local community benefiting from participants and organization empowerment. At International level it boosts the cooperation and support between the partner countries, like volunteers ex-change, sharing methods, tools and others.
