IEEE STUDENT BRANCH

IEEE Stands for INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL ANDELECTRONICS ENGINEERS.

It is the world’s largest technical professional societyconsisting of over 4,23,000 members across 160countries.

It is an association dedicated to advancing innovationand technological excellence for the benefit ofhumanity.

It was formed by merging of AMERICAN INSTITUTEOF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS (AIEE) AND INSTITUTEOF RADIO ENGINEERS (IRE).

STUDENT ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE (SAC) the IEEEcommittee responsible for student programs andbenefits and making recommendations to the Memberand Geographic Activities (MGA) board. Thesevolunteer members provide important viewpoints andinformation and represent the voice of the over100,000 IEEE Student and Graduate Student membersworldwide.

IEEE BIT Student, BIT is subsidiary branch under region10 (Asia Pacific) of IEEE and was established in 2007. Re-installation of IEEE student branch of BIT was conductedon 22nd February 2020. The main motto of IEEE BITstudent branch endeavors to enhance the learningexperience of the student community.

Objective

•Our objective is to provide opportunity for student

members to develop skills outside of the classroom such

as Leadership, Communication, Networking and Team

Building.

•To promote excellence in education and professional

development of student through projects, conferences,

guided tours to industrial visit etc.

Inauguration of the IEEE BIT ECE CASS STUDENT BRANCH

IEEE BIT Circuits and Systems StudentBranch was inaugurated on 10thAugust 2020 @ 7.00 PM using CiscoWebex virtual mode. The inauguralceremony commenced with theinvocation song by Prof. Veena H S. Thesession started with Inaugural addressvideo sent by Yoshifumi Nishio VicePresident Regional Activities andMembership IEEE CAS Society. Theinauguration function, inaugurated byDr. Devesh Diwvedi Chair, CASBangalore section, Prof. RaghavendraPrasad, Student Activities chair,Bangalore section, Dr K V Prasad Prof.& HOD, Dept. of ECE, BIT, DrSreerangaraju, Prof. & IEEE BIT CASAdvisor and Dr Jalaja.S IEEE BIT BranchCounselor.

COVID-19 LockdownOn 13th April 2020

An Online Trivia Quiz was conductedto update the students with theawareness of latest technologies andalso important milestones inengineering, it also helped thestudents to learn how to manage timeand prioritise questions. The eventrecorded a massive and enthusiasticparticipation of 87 students fromvarious Engineering colleges.The quiz contained 32 questions with1point point questions, 2pointquestions and 3 points questions. Itconsisted of MCQs, short answer andmultiple correct answer typequestions.
