• It is highly informative

• The film has a proper sequencing and transitions of events that are based on historical facts and events.

• It also have pictures of Jose Rizal and the people that are involved in his life.

Weakness of the film

• It is more on narration of the life of Jose Rizal that may lead the viewers in boredom.

Public Reaction

• It was uninteresting to watch because the viewers find it hard to relate to the film because it is more on intensive narration.

• We’ve gained a lot of information’s that intensifies our needs.

• It was a good learning resource that we highly recommend for the students to watch to have a glance of his life and everything about him.

How was Rizal portrayed in general?

• Jose Rizal was portrayed as an imagination in the movie. He was not the lead role he is just the support.

Historical Errors

• How did they know the English language?

• The name of Rizal was not clearly stated completely.

• He was not converted as Catholic until he died, he was still a Mason as we observed in the history.

• He only write the “retraction” just to marry Josephine Bracken an Irish girl.

• He never meant all the things he have said in the “retraction” Therefore he died as mason .

Strengths of the film

• It has a comedic part on it that makes it more interesting and it is very pleasing to the viewers.

• It has a lot of sense of humor because of the modern terms that they use in the movie that are used to somehow explain ideas in a movie and not to make it complicated.

• They evidently investigated the life of Jose Rizal by re-living the characters in his time.

Weakness Of the Film• The film was been produced in black and white even

though it was produced on way back 1998.

• The film didn’t make it clearly & completely answered the questions or the issues that are stated in the movie.

• They make the viewers more confused and twisted because there was no clarification about the controversies.

• It can’t be a good learning instrument for knowing Jose Rizal.

Public Reaction• We were not satisfied in the movie because they make it more

complicated to understand the answers in the issues.

• Every scenes keeps you asking “what if” that makes you think critically.

• The movie was good for entertainment but not as a learning resource.

• The film was very reliable to the modern society nowadays, because the story deals about researching the TRUTH about Jose Rizal’s life.

Strengths of the film

• It makes the viewers to have a glance on Jose Rizal’s life at Dapitan

• It makes us more attached to the love story of Jose Rizal and Josephine Bracken.

• Every scene makes you feel that you should not miss a single event.

Weakness of the film

• As we watched the movie we find it hard to look for it’s weakness in the reason of that the movie is very well crafted.

Public Reaction

• In our own perception some of the actors who portrayed the different characters of the film didn’t meet our expectations in short they didn’t portrayed the role well and give some justice to it.

• This is Rated PG, some scenes may not vary for some conservative viewers and they should be guided accordingly.

• Paciano the elder brother of Jose Rizal forbidden him to use their last name “Mercado” instead he will use “Rizal” but based from the his scholastic records that Mercado has been used by him as his middle name and Rizal as his last name.

Strengths of the film

• The actors &actresses gave justice to their roles.

• The film has a good cinematography.

• His two phenomenal novels where shown clearly and exceptionally.

• His controversies and secrets about the Spanish government and friars were evidently shown.

Weakness of the film

• At first it was hard to identify who the characters are portraying in Jose Rizal’s early age.

Public Reaction

• The film was great because it capsulated and re-lived Jose Rizal’s thoughts or ideas and it exemplifies what he is fighting for.
