The following are seminars, education modules, manuals and books that have been created and developed by Richard:
• The sporting knee in 4D: The course focuses on a unique but comprehensive approach to treating the patella-‐femoral joint and examines the intricate interrelationships between the articular, neural, visceral and vascular sub-‐systems. In this practical seminar participants will learn facilitation and release techniques for the Femorotibial, Femoromeniscal and Meniscotibial joints which including the: • Capsule • Retinaculum • Meniscus • Key ligaments (Cruciate, Arcuate, Oblique popliteal, Medial Collateral, Fibula and
Meniscal-‐Patella etc.) • Tendons (Recurrent tendon, Pes Anserinus) • Key muscles (Articular muscle) • Arteries (Iliac, femoral, Popliteal etc.) • Nerves (femoral, sciatic, Tibial, fibula etc.)
Additionally the course will highlight the profound influence that the kidneys, large intestine and small intestine have on the neuromusculoskeletel set in relation to the patella-‐femoral joint. The manual skills to locate, evaluate and treat these influential abdominal organs will be a key feature. Finally progressive exercise protocols will be demonstrated together with extensive case histories including some of the world’s top athletes.
• Building the complete athlete: This course offers a unique insight into successful program development within professional sport. Complete with theoretical information and numerous practical exercises the seminar provides some of the most up-‐to-‐date sports specific training information coupled with Richard’s unique and hugely successful methods.
• Faster, quicker – stronger: This comprehensive course outlines the systematic and progressive development of speed and power in a variety of athletic populations at all levels of sport. Internationally the most popular of Richard’s courses and has attracted prominent government officials, television coverage as well as sizable audiences (200+).

Testimonials: Practioner

Martina Navratilova 167 singles titles Former world number 1 in singles and doubles …So far so good, 2 doubles wins, 1 mixed and feeling better and better as the tournament goes on. Knee is not even an issue at all, thanks to some rehab and great work by Richard Sutton, an awesome therapist from South Africa. I wish I had him 20 years ago. Or at least 15... but better late than never! Wesley Moodie, Wimbledon Champion 2005 SA Davis Cup Player Top ranking of #8 6 career titles I am a professional tennis player. I started working with Richard in July 2004 – shortly after getting injured and not being able to compete properly over the grass court season – including Wimbledon. Within the first few days of working with Richard, I felt a huge difference both on and off the court. I had many physical imbalances and resultant injuries which restricted my movement and play over the years. With aggressive treatment and therapy by Richard these ailments disappeared. The result was a massive improvement in flexibility, movement skill and power on the court. He taught me new techniques for stretching, on and off court training as well as lifestyle management including dietary and recovery practices. There is no question in my mind that I have improved as a tennis player far beyond my expectations (even becoming a Wimbledon champion) due to Richard’s guidance and limitless expertise. I highly recommend him to every sportsperson wishing to be the best they can be!!! Nadia Petrova 13 Singles titles World number 3 in singles and doubles …I was actually a bit concerned after yesterday's match about whether I'd be able to play today, but when I woke up I couldn't feel the injuries at all. My therapist Richard Sutton worked on me for more than two hours yesterday, and did such an incredible job, he is really outstanding!
Thomas Hogstedt Worlds number 1 tennis coach …I learned a lot from Richard. He worked with me to bring Li Na and Tommy Haas to the top 10, said Hogstedt, who became Sharapova’s mentor at the start of last year and guided the 25-‐year-‐old Russian back into the second spot on the world rankings… City Press, 2012-‐11-‐04

Sport and Media
World-‐renowned Sutton, master of cutting edge tennis 10. November 2012 22:13 By Herman R Gibbs South African tennis have palpably secured a massive fillip with the input of Richard Sutton at the week-‐long training camp at the Stellenbosch Academy of Sport over the past few days. Sutton, a clinical Kinesiologist and visceral Osteopath specialising in sports injuries and high-‐level athletic development, has enjoyed worldwide acclaim for his sterling work with athletes, and tennis players in particular over the past decade. He's travelled on tennis's world circuits and has worked with at least five former No 1s, and a host of top tenners. For four years, he served as the Director for Physical Development at the National Olympic Training Centre in Beijing China, where he worked with Chinese Olympic sports teams. During his stint there, China became an Olympic Games super power. For the past few days in Stellenbosch, Sutton worked in tandem with Thomas Högstedt, one of the best coaches in world tennis. Högstedt has often called on the Johannesburg-‐born Sutton to work with players, who were under his guidance. Some of the players include women's world No 2 Maria Sharapova, Germany’s Tommy Haas and China’s Li Na. In a media interview Sutton outlined his role at Stellenbosch, were some the country's leading juniors, coaches and parents were in attendance. "The week has been more than a training camp, it's about education," said Sutton. "We've tried to include the parents and coaches as much a possible. We've tried to educate the players by having a briefing, like a lecture, on why and what we did (during training) and how to move forward. This understanding will equip players to take the right path ahead." Sutton said that in the past not enough attention was paid to the physical demands in sport generally but he was pleased that more and more people have started to realise the need for help. Högstedt supported this view and as a tennis coach he's making more and more provision for physical training rather than only tennis work outs. Sutton feels players can reach their true potential if their training is fundamentally correct. "There were few kids who really stood out (at Stellenbosch) when it comes to physical potential and provided they keep in a structure, a system, and keep evolving, I think the sky is the limit (in terms of achievement)," said Sutton. "There is a danger that if
20
they (juniors) go too high, too soon into the activity (like tennis) the ultimate reality is that there is going to be burn-‐out. There should be a diversification of activity, like for example Björn Borg ( a former world No 1) was playing ice-‐hockey (as a junior). There are a lot of other top players as well who had other sports as part of their lifestyle routine. This has helped to provide a stimulus for several factors in their development as tennis players. "Specialised training has to be introduced gradually, and scientifically, and it has to take into account the player's ago and physical development." One of the coaches who attended the week-‐long session at Stellebosch was Laura le Sueur, who played Federation Cup for South Africa in the early seventies. Nowadays she's based in Rondebosch, where she works with juniors. "It's been wonderful experience just seeing Högstedt and Sutton working with the kids," said Le Sueur. "These people are on top of the game and work with the best in the world. It was a wonderful initiative by Tennis South Africa, and we've come away with so much information that would be of great benefit to all in tennis."
