1. Using the IRISCard™ scanner
Before you begin: charge your scanner for 4 hours.
1. Turn on your computer. 2. ConnectthescannertoyourcomputerusingtheUSBcable. 3. The orange light is on while charging. 4. When the scanner is fully charged the orange light goes out. Then disconnect
your scanner from the computer.
Preliminary note:
TheIRISCard™scannerisdesignedtobeusedonitsown,disconnectedfromanycomputer.Thedocumentsyouscanarestoredinthescanner’sinternal memory(oroptionalSDcard/USBflashdrive).FromtheretheycanbeloadedintotheCardiris™software,asexplainedbelowintopics2.4and3.4.
So,notethattheIRISCard™isnotaTwain-basedscannerthatcanbeusedfromwithinanyapplicationtoscandocuments.Instead,thinkofitasaUSBstoragedevicethatisabletoscan independently.

Scanningcards:
Step 1:Pressthepowerbutton • Thegreenlightblinksafewsecondsthenremainson. • Thescannerisnowready.
Refrainfromscanningphotoswhilethegreenlightisblinking! Step 2:Scanyourbusinesscards • Insertyourbusinesscardsfacingup. • Usethepaperguidetoalignthebusinesscardwiththescanner.
Whenscanning,thegreenlightblinks.
Waituntilthegreenlightstopsblinkingbeforeinsertinganewcard.
YourbusinesscardsarenowreadytobeloadedintoCardiris™.
2. Using Cardiris™ on a Windows PC
2.1 Installing Cardiris™Beforeyoubegin,makesureyouhavethenecessaryadministrationrightstoinstallthesoftware.
• InserttheCardiris™CD-ROMintheCD-ROMdriveofyourcomputer. • WhentheAutoRunwindowappears,clickCardiris™tostarttheInstallationWizard. • ClickNextandfollowtheon-screeninstructions.
If the AutoRunwindowdoesnotappear: • GotoComputer>CD-ROMDrive. • Double-clicktheCD-ROMDrive,andthentheCardiris™folder.Double-clickSetup.exe
withintostarttheInstallationWizard.
2.2 Starting Cardiris™
Duringinstallation,aCardiris™programshortcutwascreatedonyourDesktop.
• Right-clicktheshortcutandclickRun as administratortostartCardiris™ forthefirsttime.

2.3 Registering Cardiris™ItisrecommendedyouregisteryourcopyofCardiris™.RegisteringisrequiredtogetTechnicalSupport. Registeringalsooffersotherbenefitssuchasproductupdatesanddiscountsonfutureproducts.
• OntheRegistermenu,clickRegistration Wizard. • Thenfollowtheon-screeninstructions. Notethataninternetconnectionisrequiredtoregister.
2.4. Using Cardiris™Inthissectionwecoverthebasic processing stepsinCardiris™.Followthesestepsinordertocreateanewdatabase,loadandrecognizeyourbusinesscardsandexportthemtoyourfavoriteapplications(e.g.GoogleContacts™,*Salesforce™CRM,*MicrosoftDynamicsCRM)*Corporateversiononly.

Step 1: Create a new databaseOntheFilemenu,clickNewtoopenanew,emptydatabase.ThenclickSaveasontheFilemenutosavethenewdatabase.
Anychangesyounowmakeinthedatabasearesavedautomatically.
Step 2: Load your IRISCard™ images 1. ConnectyourIRISCard™scannertoyourcomputer
and power on the scanner.
2. Cardiris™detectsifcardimageswerescannedtothescannermemory.ClickYestoselectthem.Cardiris™then opens the right folder.
Tip:toloadotherimagesatalatertime,clickthedownarrownexttoScan,andselectLoad. Now click the Loadbuttontoloadimages
Step 3: Recognize your business cards and turn them into contacts 1.Selectthecountryofyourbusinesscardsinthedrop-
down list.
2.Selectthecardsyouwanttorecognize. 3. Then click Recognize.

4.Theinformationonthecardisassignedtothecorrespondingdatafields.Double-clickacard to check the results.
Tips:
Theresultscanbeeditedbytyping,movedfromonefieldtoanotherbycut-and-paste and drag-and-drop.
You can also assign categories to contacts and create custom fields.
Step 4: Export your Contacts
YourCardiris™contactscanbeexportedtonumerousapplications:MicrosoftOutlook,WindowsContacts,MicrosoftExcelandsoon.
1.Selectthecardsyouwanttoexport.
2. Then click Export.
3. Select the Exportapplicationofyourchoice,andthenclicktheExportbutton.UsetheConfigurebuttonforadditionaloptions.
Example: Windows Contacts You contacts are now stored as Windows contacts

Step 5: Export your Contacts to the Cloud (Cardiris™ Corporate)
WithCardiris™CorporateyoucanalsoexportcontactstoCloudCRMapplicationssuchasSalesforceCRMandMicrosoftCRMonline.Example: Salesforce CRM
1 Select Salesforce CRM in the Exportlist. 3Enteryourusername and password.2 Then click Configure. Note that that an Enterprise,
UnlimitedorDeveloperSalesforceaccountisrequired.
4EntertheSecurity tokenyouobtainedfrom Salesforce and click OK.
Note that the Configurebuttonisonlyavailableifyouhavethenecessaryadministrationrightsonyourcomputer.
3. Using Cardiris™ on a Mac OS computer3.1 Installing Cardiris™Beforeyoubegin,makesureyouhavethenecessaryadministrationrightstoinstallthesoftware.
• InserttheCardiris™CD-ROMintheCD-ROMdriveofyourcomputer. • OpentheCD-ROMicononthedesktop,thenruntheCardiris™ installation package. • ClickNextandfollowtheon-screeninstructions.

Step 1: Select the country of your business cards

3. Thebusinesscardsarerecognizedautomatically.Theinformationonthecardsisassignedtothecorrespondingdatafields.Nowchecktheresults.
Tip:Theresultscanbeeditedbytyping,movedfromonefieldtoanotherbycut-and-paste and drag-and-drop.
Tip: To load other images at a later time,clickLoad and Create and browsefortheimagestoopen.
Step 3 Save your Contacts to the Address Book
Selectthecontactsyouwanttosave,andthenclickSave Selection. Or click Save AlltosaveallcardstotheAddressBook.

Step 4 Export your Contacts
• Clicktheformaticontoselecttheformatand(optional)outputapplication. • SelecttherequiredformatintheFormat list.
• ThenclickAdd application in the Send to list ifyouwanttoexportyourcontactsdirectlytooneofyourapplications. Thenbrowsefortherequiredapplication.
• ClickOKtosavethesettings. • ThenclickExporttoexportyourcontacts.
