There are three different types of testosterone that can be found in the body
and they are free testosterone, Sex hormone-binding globulin, SHBG, and
albumin-bound testosterone. The total of these determines how much
testosterone that is available in a body. Total testosterone is typically
measured in ng/dl, or nanograms per deciliter.
There is no fixed number to find what the normal testosterone level is but it
is a range from about 270 to 1070 ng/dL with an average level of 679 ng/dL.
It is important to note that the range is affected by a different number of
reasons like age, disease and any other physiological issue that directly
affects the testosterone levels. Anything above or below the 270 to 1070
ng/dL would mean that the person doesn’t have enough or has too much
testosterone in the body.
