How to configure PPPoE client on MikroTik Router

1. Create PPPoE client

We assume that our WAN port is ether1.

- Plug your WAN cable into ether1

- Click on “PPP” on left menu

- Click on plus sign “+” then choose “PPPoE Client”

- In “General” tab, you will see “ Interface” then choose it as “ether1”

- Go to “Dial Out” tab and then fill in User and Password

- Click on “Apply” then you will see “Status: connected” on the bottom

2. Set DNS - On the left menu, click on “IP” and then choose “DNS”

- Fill in the DNS IP addresses as below picture

3. Create bridge and add port into bridge - On the left menu, click on “Bridge” then click on “+” sign to add new bridge

- Enter the bridge name then click “OK” to finish

- In “Ports” tab, click on “+” sign to add port into bridge

- Select interface that you want to add into bridge (Ex: ether2, ether3, ether4, waln1) then

choose bridge that we have created earlier and click OK to finish.

4. Add IP address for LAN - Click on “IP” then choose “Addresses”

- Click on “+” sign to add new IP address

- Fill in the IP address and then choose the bridge name that you have created earlier

5. Create DHCP Server - Click on “IP” then choose “DHCP Server”

- Click on “DHCP Setup”, then choose your bridge and click next until finish

6. NAT LAN network - Click on “IP” on the left menu, then choose “Firewall”

- In general tab, select “srcnat” and choose pppoe-out1 (PPPoE name that you have created

earlier) in “out interface”.

- In action tab, choose “masquerade” then click OK to finish.
