Practice Activity

• Students can be paired together to fill out the graphic organizer and make a Cinquain poem of their own using any of the three patterns.

• The teacher will walk around and help as needed, also giving feedback.

• Students will have the option to share their poems with the class afterwards.

Assessment Activity

• Students will write a cinquain poem using one of the three patterns.

• Show students the graphic organizer. Allow them to use the prewriting organizer for reference.

• Did students use correct number of words for each line?

• Does the poem make sense?
