The 100 Club was unable to host its 66th Annual Heroes Awards Banquet this year, due to the corona virus pandemic. The 100 Club did honor the 84 Law Enforcement Officers and Firefighters who have performed above and beyond the call of duty. The awards are being presented in person. In appreciation, each Law Enforcement Officer receives a Sig Sauer Model 229, .40-caliber Semi-Automatic Commemorative Pistol and an Onyx Marble Award. Each Firefighter receives a custom Cairns Presentation Firefighter Helmet and a Glass Firefighter’s Axe and marble base inscribed with The 100 Club logo.
We congratulate each of the award recipients listed below:
In Memorium: Lifetime Director George Bolin George passed away in May of 2020 after a brief illness. He served The 100 Club with honor since 1979, including Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President and Lifetime Director since 2003. George is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
Lifetime Director Freeman Dunn Freeman passed away in June of 2020. He is best remembered for his service as a longstanding member of The 100 Club. Freeman is survived by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The 100 Club received a $10,000 donation in honor of Houston Fire Fighter Ronald Walker, a 17-year veteran, who was honored with the 2020 Houston Texans Star of Courage Award presented by Apache. This award recognizes Houston first responders for demonstrating bravery and courage in the line of duty.

Greetings and welcome to the fall edition
of our 100
Club newsletter. As I am sure all of you ha
ve been
affected by the Covid 19 pandemic, so has
your 100
Club. While we have been unable to hold i
n-person
director’s meetings since our March meet
ing, we
have continued to conduct business virtua
lly and
have continued with our support of our hero
es.
Sadly, since our last newsletter we have h
ad two officers killed in
the line of duty. HPD officer Jason Knox w
as killed May 2, 2020 in
a helicopter crash while on patrol and Fort
Bend County Deputy
Sherriff Caleb Rule was killed May 29, 202
0 in a tragic incident
while searching a home. We performed n
eeds assessments for
both of their families and have provided as
sistance. In addition,
Chase Cormier, who survived the helicopt
er crash that killed Jason
Knox, sustained serious injuries and requir
ed an Americans with
Disabilities Act vehicle which The 100 Clu
b assisted with.
Also due to the pandemic, we were forced
to cancel our annual golf
tournament. The golf tournament is our on
ly fundraising event of the
year and to help continue The 100 Club’s m
ission, we are holding a
raffle for a Polaris Ranger UTV. If you wou
ld like to participate in the
raffle, go to the 100 Club website and click
on the link for the UTV
Raffle.
As members of the 100 Club, you are the
life blood of our
organization and allow us the opportunity
to support our brave
police officers and firefighters. I thank you
for your past support and
encourage you to continue that support to
allow this organization to
further its mission.

We would like to send a huge thank you out to Republic Harley-Davidson for their continued support of The 100 Club. Earlier this year, they commit-ted a portion of new motorcycles sales and sold wristbands to raise money. They presented our Executive Director, William F. Skeen, with a check for over $4,500 in June. Thanks again to Republic Harley-Davidson for their unwavering support!
