MESSAGE FROM MINISTER FOR TOURISM INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT
Welcome to the Sunshine Coast for the first edition of this brand-new food festival, The Curated Plate. This event brings together the region’s finest food producers with the best local, national and international chefs.
The Sunshine Coast is famous for its golden beaches and stunning hinterland rainforests, but it is also home to mouth-watering produce and unique producer to plate experiences.
Events are an important contributor to Queensland’s tourism economy, with The Curated Plate expected to drive visitation to the region and help raise its profile as a foodie destination. The Queensland Government is proud to support this event, as part of Tourism and Events Queensland’s It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar, which will contribute $800 million to the state’s economy this year.
I’d like to congratulate the event organisers on successfully staging this event.
To those visiting the region, I encourage you to make the most of your stay, get out and create your own unique experience on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
The Hon. Kate Jones, MPMinister for Tourism Industry Development
MESSAGE FROM SUNSHINE COAST MAYOR
Welcome to Australia’s Sunshine Coast and our newest culinary festival, The Curated Plate, celebrating the natural beauty and liveability of or region and the relationship between the chef and local producer.
The Curated Plate will bring together our region’s finest produce with the best chefs in the Australian and international dining scene.
The Sunshine Coast is home to some of Australia’s premium produce and some amazing restaurants. Our region boasts more than 740 restaurants, 400 food tourism experiences, 13 new craft breweries and is home to much of Queensland’s highest quality seafood, fruit, vegetables and poultry exports.
In short, we are the five star food bowl for the discerning connoisseur. As locals, we’ve long known about the rich history and diversity of our food and agri industry. We are quite rightly proud of the growing success of our local producers and food scene. We invite you to enjoy our region’s diverse landscapes, from the lush hinterland of rainforests and valleys, the majestic Glass House Mountains and iconic beaches whilst you are here for The Curated Plate.
Mayor Mark JamiesonSunshine Coast Council

A natural food bowl, the Sunshine Coast is one of Australia’s premier regions for quality produce - it has more than 740 restaurants, 400 food tourism experiences, six dining precincts, 13 craft breweries, some of the best farmers markets in the country and provides much of Queensland’s fish, seafood, fruit, vegetables and poultry exports.
The Curated Plate, a new four-day destination food festival is set to make its debut on the Sunshine Coast on August 8-11, 2019. In a celebration of the relationship between the chef and producer, the festival will bring together the region’s finest produce with the best chefs in the Australian and international dining scene.
We look forward to welcoming guests to our beautiful part of the world and invite them to discover what makes the Sunshine Coast a perfect destination for fresh and appetising food.
