EVENTS HOSTED
GANGAUR: A festival that walks in with the colorful jibe of Holi and
unbeatable spirit of festivities. Celebrated at the Hindu temple,
Canton among the women who dressed up like Gaur to celebrate
their Shiv ‘Gan’. It was hosted on 3/26/2017.
GLEANER’S CHARITY: MMNA has always expanded the kindness
beyond just our community. 25 volunteers of various ages
participated and more than 5000+ food and miscellaneous items
were sorted and properly boxed so they can be reached to the
needy, on time. It was hosted on 5/6/2017

SAKHI EVENTS: A group of unstoppable women who strike a
remarkable balance between family, work and living it away. In that
effort, they organized many events this year under Yogita Sarada
and Smita Jajoo’s leadership, as follows:

Ben Rathi’s International Endeavor:
MMNA is proud to present Ben Rathi to you. Born to
Roger and Anuradha Rathi, Ben Rathi is, first and
foremost, an incredibly kind person. The friendliness
emanating is not the oozing or overwhelming kind, but
mild and genuine. While pursuing two degrees in business
and computer science, stopping just two classes short of a
third in biomedical science, Ben has had a wealth of
prestigious internships at software, finance and health
care firms; and founded a successful, now national-scale,
nonprofit organization that collects unused medical
supplies and delivers them to impoverished countries for a
fraction of their market value. Please find more

Shreya and Arsheya Bhattad’s Arangetram:
Shreya (16) is currently a sophomore at IA East.
She has been learning Bharatnatyam since the age
of 7 and Arsheya (9) Bhattad is a 4th grade student
at Wass Elementary and has been learning as far
back as she remembers. They are extremely
talented and responsible, with their hard work and
dedication, so of their family, under the tutelage of
Shrimati Sudha Chandrashekhar and Malini Sharma
succesfully performed Arangetram on Oct 15th,
2016.
Preeti Malani: Appointed as the Chief Health Officer at the University of Michigan
Preeti Malani, daughter of Narayanji Malani was born and grew up in Michigan. She is married to Mark Zacharek an ENT Surgeon at UM with two children Nicholas (16) and Sonya (13). MMNA is proud to announce her appointement as the Chief Health Officer at the University of Michigan. Preeti earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from U-M, a medical degree from Wayne State University and a master's degree in journalism at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. She completed her internal medicine residency and infectious diseases fellowship at U-M, where she also received a master's degree in clinical research design and statistical analysis
