Church Information & Ministry News 8
Over the years I have had the privilege of standing beside a great number of beds as someone takes their last breath. You might wonder why that is a privilege. There is no more of an intimate moment with those left behind than this. I have also stood beside a lot of bedsides, recliners and hospital beds shortly after or as someone received the word that they have some life altering disease. Heck, I have been there myself. Why do I say this? Because often we focus on the earthly side of things and forget what Paul, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, wrote in Colossians 3:1-2 NKJV “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” Out of all this I want us to learn a lesson from God. Hope is the thing that runs throughout the life lived in faith. The loved one who draws their last breath, if they are a believer, has hope of eternal life. The moment of death they are in the presence of our Savior. In First Corinthians Paul quotes Isaiah 25:8 and says, “So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY. O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING? O HADES, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY?’ The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:54-57 NKJV So there is hope no matter the pain that we may have here, there is hope no matter the diagnosis that we are given. There is hope in the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact I submit that while life distracts us at times, when it gets real, there is only hope in Christ. Hold fast to Him, my beloved.

URGENT REQUEST: Helpers are needed for this
shoebox project. Because of illness and other
factors, some of the people who have been faithful
to serve in this capacity find that they need to step
back this year and not be so much involved. Won’t
you step up and help out. If you can give some
assistance, please see Linda Hollamon to volunteer.

Dear EUBC Friends:
Welcome: Rylynn Marie and Ryan Cooper, children of Trever & Kayce Schrupp Canon Knox, son of Corey and Jennifer Thomason
Its's hard to believe summer is almost over and school has started back!!! Our preschoolers are getting ready for a new school year too. This month and next month they will begin by getting acquainted with their new friends, learning simple rules and how very special they are. There is a lot of training that goes into the life of each preschooler. Some-times that training can be interpreted from the child as " I can never do anything right," or "their picture is better than mine." It is important that all children understand that God has made them for a purpose and loves them just as they are.
Bible Story: Children Come to Jesus Memory Verse: Let the little children come to me. - Mark 10:14
Please pray for our young families and children!!!
Love in Christ, Ms. Sandra
