Inauguration of New Buildings
Sri Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy garu, Hon’ble
Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture and
Agri-Processing, Government of Andhra Pradesh has
inaugurated Quality Testing Centre Building, HRS, Lam,
Orchids Production Unit, HRS, Chintapalli, Laboratory
cum Office Building & Farmers Training Centre at HRS,
Ambajipeta and HRS, Chintapalli and Internal Roads, CoH,
Parvathipuram and laid a foundation stone for construc-
tion of Administrative Building Second Phase, Quarters, Auditorium, Central Library and Vice-
Chancellors Bungalow at University Campus, Providing External Water Supply, CoH, V.R.Gudem,
Construction of Quarters, CoH, Parvathipuram, Internal roads & construction of Compound Wall,
HRS, Ambajipeta, Lab cum Office Building, PHTRS, V.R.Gudem and construction of Processing and
Value addition Unit at KVK, Venkataramannagudem and KVK, Pandirimamidi on 06.02.2019 in the
presence of Sri.T.Sravan Kumar, Hon’ble MLA, Thadikonda, Shaik Johnymoon, Hon’ble Chairperson,
ZPP, Guntur, other People’s representatives, university officers, scientists and staff of Dr.YSRHU.
MoU
Dr.Y.S.R.Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem entered into an Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with M/s.ITC Limited, Guntur on 14.02.2019 for facilitating Rural Horticulture
Work Experience Programme (RHWEP).

Seven students of CoH, Venkataramannagudem along with
Dr.B.Ambedkar, Teaching Associate have participated in one day
Austrailian Education Fair organized by International Education
Placement Consultancy, Vijayawada on 04.02.2019.
RHWEP students involved in hands on training on Mango veneer
grafting, Tomato disease scoring and collection of yield data in
fungicidal trial and Imposed treatments in musk melon downey
mildew management experiment at HRS, Anantharajupeta on
08.02.2019.
South India Educational Tour
Final year B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture students (72 nos.)
have proceeded to South India Educational Tour scheduled
from 13.02.2019 to 26.02.2019. They have visited Arignar
Anna Zoological Park (Theme park), Chennai, National
Research Centre for Banana (NRCB) at Tiruchirapalli,
Tamil Nadu and the Agricultural College and Research
Institute, TNAU, Madurai. Dr.T.Suseela, Associate
Professor, Dr.K.Sasikala, Associate Professor and Dr.B.Peda Babu, Assistant Professor have
coordinated the program.
Education
RHWEP Activities
KVK, Periyavaram conducted an exposure visit to RHWEP
students to CRS, Petluru on 07.02.2019. Dr. B. Govindarajulu,
Principle Scientist & Head CRS, Petluru has demonstrated the
mass multiplication of Trichoderma Viride and also
demonstrated Bordeaux mixture and Bordeaux paste prepara-
tion to the students. Dr. P.Pratap, Scientist (Agronomy)
explained about the varieties of mango, acidlime and other
technical activities carried out at CRS, Petluru. Ms. S.M.Sailaja, Research Associate (Hort.)
coordinated the program.
Students of CoH, Venkataramannagudem participated in the
19th All India Agricultural Universities Youth Festival -2019
held at SDAU, Sardarkrushinagar, Gujarat from 03.02.2019 to
07.02.2019. Ms.D.Archana, Final B.Sc.(Hons.) Horticulture
student of College of Horticulture, Venkataramannagudem got
fourth place in ‘On the spot painting’ competition of Agri
Unifest-2019. Sri S.Narasimha Rao, Assistant Professor was
incharge of the program.

Women Protection Awareness Programme
An awareness programme was organized to the girl
students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, CoH,
Anantharajupeta as a part of Abhaya project under
College sensitization support activity from Vijay
foundation trust on 04.02.2019 along with a guest
lecture by Nancy, member of Abhaya on ‘Human
rights for women’ under the guidance of Dr. M. Rama Krishna, Associate Dean and Dr. Y.Sireesha,
Asst. Prof.(Pl. Path) and Women Protection Cell incharge.
Research
At HRS, Anantharajupeta different cultivars of chrysanthemum which
were planted under open field conditions in the month of October
responded very well to the artificial lighting conditions in prolonging
the vegetative phase and the targeted generative phase was achieved
during January and first and second harvest were done in the first
fortnight of February. ,
Sri Ch.S.Kishore Kumar, Scientist i/c, AICRP on
Nematodes identified nematodes infestation in chinese
potato and sweet potato tubers collected from HRS
Peddapuram.
Extension
District Level Workshop
On 13.02.2019, District level workshop on citrus was
conducted at CRS, Petlur by ATMA, Nellore. Dr B. Go-
vinda Rajulu, Principal Scientist (Pl. Path.) & Head, CRS,
Petlur, Smt. Ananda Kumari, Project Director, ATMA,
Nellore, Sri. Chelikam Sankar Reddy, REC Member, Dr.
YSRHU, Sri. Koti Reddy, SFAC Member, Sri P. Rajeswara
Rao AMC Chairman, Venkatagiri, Sri. Subhani, Project
Director, APMIP, Nellore have participated. Discussed about crop production plant protection of
acid lime. The scientists of CRS, Petlur, KVK, Periyavaram and officials from Department of
Horticulture and Agriculture. Nearly 250 farmers attended from different mandals of Nellore
district. Field visit and technical session were conducted for the benefit of the acid lime growers of
SPSR Nellore dist.
Training Programmes
Dr. D. Srinivas Reddy, Senior Scientist (Ento.), CRS, Tirupati attended a training program as
resource person on "Integrated Pest Management of Mango" at Irala mandal of Chittoor district on

Dr. P. Deepthi, Scientist (Pl. Path.) and Mrs. B. Vimala, Scientist
(Hort.), HRS, Anantapuramu attended a training program for
farmers on vegetables as resource persons organized by
Department of Horticulture on 14.02.2018.
On 02.02.2019, KVK, Periyavaram conducted an on-campus training
programme on “Scientific Management of backyard poultry” for
poultry farmers. Dr.B.Govinda Rajulu, Principal Scientist & Head,
CRS, Petlur and Dr.M.Kavitha, In-charge, KVK, Periyavaram also
addressed the farmers and distributed 10 nos. of one month old
Rajasri poultry birds to 10 farmers as part of animal husbandry On
-farm trial. Dr.P.Manjari, Scientist (Veterinary Science) coordinated the program.
Ms.S.M.Sailaja, Research Associate (Hort.), KVK, Periyavaram, has
attended Agriclinic and Agri-Business centers training programme
as resource person at RASS KVK, Vanasthali, Karakambadi,
Chittoor dist. on 04.02.2019. She imparted training on
‘Commercial floriculture and its career opportunities’ and also pro-
duction technology of dry flowers and their importance to the
trainees.
Ms. S.M.Sailaja, Research Associate (Hort.), KVK, Periyavaram
attended a meeting conducted by Department of Horticulture as
resource person on 05.02.2019 at G.K.Palli village, Kalavalapudi
mandal. Created awareness about importance of Horticulture
commercial crops and were instructed to increase acerage under
horticulture as paddy is majorly grown and acerage under
Horticultural crops in G.K.palli was very less.
On 13.02.2019, Dr. M. Kavitha, Officer In-Charge, KVK, Periyavaram
attended District level Acid lime farmers training programme
organized at Citrus Research Station, Petlur and conducted
demonstration on multiplication of Trichoderma viride to acid lime
farmers of different clusters of Nellore District.
Scientists of HRS, Ambajipeta organized four (20 farmers per one
batch) one day skill training programmes on “ Mass production of
Isaria fumasarosea at field level against Rugose spiralling whitefly”
sponsored by Department of Horticulture, Amalapuram on
08.02.2019, 12.02.2019, 14.02.2019 and 15.02.2019 at Horticultural
Research Station, Ambajipeta.
Dr. R. Nagaraju Principal Scientist (Hort.) & Head and Dr. T. Naga
Lakshmi, Scientist (Pl. Path.), HRS, Anantharajupeta imparted
training to the trainees of KVK, RASS, Tirupati as resource persons
on ‘Protected cultivation – Export management and plant
protection’ on 02.02.2019 and 04.02.2019.

On 14.02.2019, KVK, Vonipenta conducted an off campus training
programme on “Integrated crop management in Chillies” at
Setivaripalli village of Mydukur mandal. Explained about nursery
management, varieties, fertilizer and water management, flower
and fruit drop management, pests and disease management and
other cultural practices to be followed for getting good quality and
higher yields in chilli. Dr. V. Yugandhar, Research Associate (Hort.), Sri G. Sandeep Naik, Scientist,
(Pl. Path.) and Sri E. Ravi Goud, Research Associate (Extn.) have participated.
On 13.02.2019, KVK, Pandirimamidi conducted a training program
on ‘Transplanting technique in redgram’ at Devaram village,
Devipatnam mandal sponsored by ATMA, East Godavari district.
Trainees were taught about advantages and disadvantages of using
this technique in obtaining better yields in rainfed conditions. 33
farmers participated in the program. Pamphlet on ‘Natla paddatilo
kandi saagu’ was distributed as part of training program. Dr. S. Adarsha Scientist (Ento.) and Sri. P.
Raja sekhar Scientist (SS&AC) coordinated the program.
Dr. M. Raja Naik, Associate Professor (Hort.), CoH, Anantharajupeta
attended a training program to the farmers as resource person on
‘Production of gerbera, tuberose and chrysanthemum under low
cost shadenet house’ at Gajulavandla Palli, Madanapalli mandal on
09.02.2019.
On 06.02.2019, KVK, Vonipenta has conducted a training
programme on ‘Importance of organic manures, types and their
production’ at Bhimunipadu village of Duvvur mandal and explained
the type of bulk and concentrated organic manures with plant and
animal origin and also explained the importance of manure
application for improving the physical, chemical and biological
properties of soil. Dr. V. Nagarjuna, Research Associate (Soil Science) coordinated the program.
Dr. K. Swarajya Lakshmi and Smt. Gowthami, Ph.D (FLA) student,
CoH, Anantharajupeta gave hands on training to the students at
RASS KVK, Karakambadi on value addition in flowers on
01.02.2019. Explained them about preparation of flowers
bouquets, floral arrangements, tinting of flowers and dehydration
techniques.
On 13.02.2019, KVK, Venkataramannagudem conducted training cum
exposure visit to 30 farmers from East Godavari district. Explained
about the importance of Bio-control agents, Soil Health, Bio-fertilizers,
Improved production technology of vegetables. Later explained about
various demonstration units of KVK, Instructional farm.

Dr. R. Nagaraju, Principal Scientist (Hort.) & Head, HRS, Anantharaju-
peta interacted with the progressive farmers of Chinnagottigallu,
Valmikipuram blocks of Chittoor and explained about Mango, Guava
and Papaya crop production and protection practises to be taken up
during this season on 15.02.2019.
Farmers - Scientists Interaction Meeting
On 06.02.2019, KVK, Pandirimamidi conducted ‘Farmers-Scientists
Interaction meeting’ at Vedurupaka village of Gokavaram mandal.
Dr.D.Manohara Prasad, Principal Scientist & Head, KVK, PMD
addressed the scientists regarding the activities of KVK and also
dealt with the pest and disease management in various crops. Chief
guest of this programme Sri.Ramakrishna, Sarpanch, Vedurupaka
praised the activities of KVK and said to utilize them effectively. Scientists of KVK clarified the
doubts on management practices in various crops.
Field Day
On 02.02.2019, KVK, Vonipenta organized a field day on Redgram
variety LRG- 52 cultivated under Cluster Front Line Demonstrations-
Pulses under NFSM- 2018 sponsored by ICAR- ATARI, Zone- X,
Hyderabad at Tanguturu Village of Rajupalem mandal. Dr.R.V.S.K
Reddy, Director of Extension participated as chief guest and
addressed the farmers on importance of pulses in our daily diet,
enrichment of soil fertility and also suggested the farmers to store the produce for seed material in
coming season and interacted with the farmers regarding cultivation practices, expenditure and
expected yield. Sri Poorna Chandra Sekhar, BTM, ATMA, Mydukur addressed the farmers regarding
cultivation of redgram under drip irrigation system through transplanting method by raising nurs-
ery that fetches good yields. Followed by visit to redgram- LRG- 52 cultivated fields where in farm-
ers responded positively regarding the performance of the variety LRG-52, which is short duration
(155-160 days), suitable for both kharif and rabi seasons, resistant to wilt, sterility mosaic disease
and seeds are bold which fetches good market price.
On 02.02.2019, KVK, Vonipenta organized a field day on bunch
management techniques banana, sponsored by Agricultural
Technology Management Agency (ATMA), YSR Kadapa dist at
Sunkulagaripalle Village of Mydukur mandal. Dr RVSK Reddy,
Director of Extension, Dr YSR Horticultural University
participated as chief guest and addressed the farmers on bunch
management techniques like, covering of bunches with boot leaf to protect the bunches from sun
scorching, application of sulphate of potash @ 0.5% on active leaves at 5 and 15 days after removal
of male flower, covering of bunches with bunch covers to protect from pest and disease infestation.
Dr V.L SatyaPrakash, Project Director, ATMA, Kadapa dist addressed the farmers on bunch
management techniques which gives good quality crop that fetches good market price. Followed by
field visit and interacted with farmers who responded positively.

On 02.02.2019, KVK, Periyavaram conducted field day on black gram
variety TBG-104 under CFLD. The varietal acceptance from farmers
is good in terms of yield and viral resistance. On this occasion, pocket
calendar was released on the cultivational aspects of black gram for
ease of farmers reference. Dr. M.Kavitha, KVK, Periyavaram,
In-Charge Head and Dr. B.Govindarajulu, Principal Scientist & Head,
CRS, Petlur as chief guest, addressed the gathering. Ms. S.M.Sailaja, Research Associate (Hort.)
coordinated the program.
Method Demonstrations
On 05.02.2019, Dr. V. Yugandhar, Research Associate (Hort.) and Sri. E
Ravi Goud, Research Associate (Agril. Extn.), KVK, Vonipenta conducted
a method demonstration on pruning in Guava at Vonipenta village of
Mydukur mandal. The scientists explained and demonstrated pruning
and training in guava.
On 07.02.2019, Sri. G. SandeepNaik, Scientist, (Pl. Path.) and Dr. V.
Yugandhar, Research Associate (Hort.) conducted method demonstra-
tion on seedling root dip technique in chillies. Demonstrated the
preparation of chemical solution by mixing imidachloprid @ 0.5 ml
and Carbendazim @ 1g/l of water and keeping the seedlings for 5min
in chemical solution which gives protection for a period of 30 days
from sucking pest complex and root rot diseases and also explained about IPM practices to be
followed in chilli.
Front Line Demonstrations
On 01.02.2019 and 08.02.2019, Dr. V. Yugandhar, Research Associate
(Hort.) and Dr. V. Nagarjuna, Research Associate (SS&AC), KVK,
Vonipenta visited chilli OFT trial “Introduction of new chilli variety –
LCA-616” for followup visit at Settivaripalli and Adireddypalli villages
of Mydukur mandal.
On 02.02.2019, Dr. V. Nagarjuna, Research Associate (Soil Science)
and E. Ravi Goud, Research Associate (Agril. Extension), KVK,
Vonipenta conducted follow up visit for FLD on micronutrient
management in tomato at Musalinayanapalli in Mydukur mandal.
Recommended spraying of boron @ 2 g/l and zinc sulphate@ 2 g/l
for enhanced the nutrient availability for prolonged flowering and
fruit management.
On 14.102.2019, Sri. G. Sandeep Naik, Scientist (Pl. Path.), Dr.V.
Yugandhar, Research Associate (Hort.) and E. Ravi Goud Research
Associate (Extn.), KVK, Vonipenta conducted method demonstration
on erection of sticky traps in chillies. Explained about the importance
of sticky traps in controlling sucking pest complex, different colours
of sticky traps which attracts different types of insects under FLD
“Management of viral diseases in chillies” at Settivarpalli village of Mydukur mandal.

Diagnostic Visits
Dr. P. Rama Devi, Senior Scientist (Pl. Path) and Smt. N. Janaki
Ratnam, Research Associate (Pl. Path), HRS, Venkataramannagudem
made a diagnostic field visit to cashew orchard at Gopalapuram,
Devarapalli on 02.02.2019.
Dr. V.S.L. Saranya, Research Associate (Ento.), HRS, Venkataramannagudem
surveyed basil and tulasi fields which are under commercial cultivation at
Korisapadu and surrounding areas of Prakasam district and recorded pest
incidence on 08.02.2019.
Dr.T. Naga Lakshmi, Scientist (Pl.Path), HRS, Anantharajupeta visited
mango orchards in Krinshnapalle (V) of Peddavorampadu (M), Y.S.R.
dist. on 04.02.2019 to observe the incidence of pests and diseases in
mango. The field was affected with hoppers and thrips due to
untimely rains and suitable remedial measures were suggested.
On 05.02.2019, Dr. V. Nagarjuna, Research Associate (Soil Science)
and Dr. V. Yugandhar, Research Associate (Hort.), KVK, Vonipenta
visited mango orchards at Nagasanipalli village of Khajipeta mandal.
The scientists indentified boron and potassium deficiency in mango
and recommended to spray the boron@2 g/l and KNO3@ 10g/l to
control the deficiency.
On 08.02.2019, G. Sandeep Naik, Scientist (Pl. Path.) and Dr V. Yugandhar, Research
Associate (Hort.), KVK, Vonipenta visited paddy fields for diagnosis of pests and dis-
eases at Repalle village of Chapadu mandal and observed stem borer infestation. Rec-
ommended to apply Cartap hydro chloride 4G@ 10 Kg per acre or to spray monocro-
tophos @ 0.16%.
On 11.02.2019, G. SandeepNaik, Scientist (Pl. Path.) and Dr V. Yugandhar, Research
Associate (Hort.), KVK, Vonipenta visited guava fields for diagnosis of pests and dis-
eases at Vedurur village of Chapadu Mandal. Observed fruit rot infection and sug-
gested to remove and destroy the infected fruits followed by spraying of copper
oxychloride @ 0.3% or mancozeb @ 0.25%.
Dr K.Mamatha, Sr.Scientist (Hort.), Dr.R. Naga Lakshmi, Scientist (Hort.) and Sri
Ch.S.Kishore Kumar, Scientist (Pl.Path.), HRS, Kovvur visited cucumber field un-
der polyhouse at Rangampeta near Peddapuram and identified nitrogen, potash
and boran deficiencies and suggested ameliorative measures.

On 01.02.2019, Dr. T. Vijaya Nirmala, Scientist (Veterinary Science),
KVK, Venkataramannagudem visited Karthikeya poultry farm at
Tadepalligudem and observed fifteen days old kadaknath chicks
showing symptoms of chicks huddling near heat source, whitish
diarrhoea around vent, increase in mortality and suggested
treatment with Furatec 200 @ 2 kg/tonne of feed and 5 ml
ambiplexliquid for 100 birds orally for 7 days.
On 02.02.2019, Dr. T. Vijaya Nirmala, Scientist (Veterinary Science) and
Dr.A.Devivaraprasad Reddy, Scientist (Fishery Science), KVK,
Venkataramannagudem visited Kadaknath poultry farm of Sri Venkata
Appa Reddy, Chinthalapudi village and explained about importance of
vaccination in disease prevention.
As part of of KVK mandate Dr. K. Venkata Subbaiah, Scientist (Hort.)
visited fields in tribal villages i.e., Gubbisavarivagudem (brinjal),
Pandirimamidigudem (bush bean, bitter gourd, brinjal), Jeelugumelli
(tomato) and Vankavarigudem (banana) and distributed need-based
crop inputs to the farmers on 07.02.2019 as per the technical
program.
On 11.02.2019, Dr. V. Deepthi, Scientist (Agril. Extn.) and Sri. Rupa Devi,
Research Associate (SS&AC), KVK, Venkataramannagudem organized a
diagnostic visit in black-gram variety, TBG-104 cultivated under CFLD-
Pulses at Takkelapadu village of Dwarakathirumala mandal and
distributed critical inputs like pongamia soap, imazethapyr, acephate,
funnel pheromone traps, yellow and blue sticky traps.
On Farm Trial
On 12.02.2019, Dr. V. Nagarjuna, Research Associate (Soil Science),
KVK, Vonipenta conducted a follow-up visit for OFT- Assessment of
Arka microbial consortium (AMC) for growth and development in to-
mato at farmer nursery in T. Kothapalli village in Mydukur and col-
lected biometric observations (Germination percentage, days to germi-
nation, no. of leaves per plant, plant height etc.,) at nursery stage in
farmer’s fields.
General
Meetings
Dr.A.Sujatha, Dean of Student Affairs and Dr. P. Ashok, Senior. Scientist
(Hort.) HRS, Venkataramannagudem attended National Collaboration
Building Conference of NHB-ICAR at New Delhi from 5th to 6th February
and discussed about the DPR’s issues submitted by farmers to NHB.

Dr.K.T.Venkata Ramana, Principal Scientist, (Hort.) & Zonal Head,
Dr L. Mukunda Lakshmi, Sr. Scientist (Hort.), Dr. D.Srinivasa Reddy,
Senior Scientist (Ento.) and Dr. T. Rajasekhaam, Scientist (Pl.
Path.), CRS, Tirupati participated and presented technical
programme in 6th Group Discussion-2019 at AAU, Jorhat, Assam
from 14th to 16th February 2019.
Dr.P.Subbaramamma, Assistant Professor (Pl.Physiology) has attended 31st Annual meeting of the
plant physiology club (APAU) and participated in the group discussion on ‘New paradigms in
cultivation of rice-role of crop physiology’ held at RARS, Lam, Guntur on 09.02.2019.
Dr. R. Nagaraju, Principal Scientist (Hort.) & Head, HRS, Ananthara-
jupeta participated as National advisory member in National
Symposium on ‘Horticulture in the vanguard of Climate change and
Urban Environment’ and also presented a lead paper on
“Conocarpus erectus – The Monster – Myths and Facts at
Annamalai University, Chidambaram on 7th and 8th February-2019.
Visits
Students and teachers of Aditya High school, Tadepalligudem visited
the CoH and KVK, Venkataramannagudem on 13.02.2019. Ms.
P.Pranuthi, Teaching Associate and Ms. S.S.V.Prasanna, Teaching Asso-
ciate have explained them about the college activities and crops in the
instructional farms to the students.
Trainee officers from various cooperative banks in Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu and Karnataka
visited centre of excellence for protected cultivation on 6th February, 2019. Dr. M. Ravindra Babu,
Sr. Scientist (Hort.), Prinicipal Investigator, CEPC explained about ongoing research activities and
vegetable seedlings production at hitech nursery.
A Group of 25 number of farmers from Puttur Block, Chittoor dist
visited HRS, Anantharajupeta on 02.02.2019. Dr. R. Nagaraju,
Principal Scientist (Hort.) & Head and Dr.Y.Sharath Kumar Reddy
explained about the research projects and necessary management
practices to achieve remunerative yields in mango during this
season.
Dr.J.Dilip Babu, Director of Research, Dr.YSRHU, Venkataramanna-
gudem visited HRS, Anantharajupeta on 13.12.2019 and reviewed
progress of ongoing projects of Non Plan and AICRP and suggested
to work on paper bag covers for ‘Taiwan Guava’ and visited the
chrysanthemum and gladiolus flower blocks.
Cornelius Heimstadt a doctoral student from The Centre for the

05.02.2019 to study the research activities and interacted with the
scientists.

A group of 82 numbers of Students from S.V.Agricultural
College, Tirupati Visited CoH and HRS, Anantharjupeta on
15.02.2019 as a part of educational tour. Teachinf staff and
scientists were explained about research activities of the
college and various ongoing research activities to the students.
Thirty farmers from Araku mandal visited HRS, Kovvur on 05.02.2019
as a part of their exposure visit. Dr.B.V.K Bhagavan, Principal Scientist
(Hort.) & Head, Dr K.Mamatha, Sr. Scientist (Hort.), Dr R. Naga Lakshmi,
Scientist (Hort.) Dr.K.Ravindra Kumar, Scientist (Hort.) and Sri
Ch.S.Kishore Kumar, Scientist (Pl.Path.) interacted with the farmers and
explained about production technology of banana and tuber crops.
Seventy 2nd Year B.Sc Agriculture students from Kadiri Baburao
College of Agriculture, Prakasam district visited HRS, Kovvur on
14.02.2019 as a part of their educational tour. Dr K.Mamatha, Sr. Sci-
entist (Hort.), Dr R. Naga Lakshmi, Scientist (Hort.) Dr.K.Ravindra
Kumar, Scientist (Hort.) and Sri Ch.S.Kishore Kumar, Scientist (Pl.
Path.) explained about production technology of banana, tuber
crops and tissue culture technology.
Dr. M. R. Sreenivasulu, Rtd ADR, ANGRAU visited College of
Horticulture, Anantharajupeta on 14.02.2019 and interacted with
staff members and also visited fields and laboratories.
Sixty Five students of 3rd year BZC and faculty members of S.K.R
& S.K.R Govt. College for Women, Kadapa visited CoH, Ananatha-
rajupeta on 01.02.2019. Dr. Ch. Ruth, Lakshmi prasanna and
Sivakesava Rao explained about the central lab, mushroom unit,
vermicompost unit and other ongoing activities of the college.
On 06.02.2019, technical team from NABARD visited KVK, Venkatara-
mannagudem. Dr. E. Karunasree, Principal Scientist & Head along
with other teaching staff explained about different demonstration
plots of KVK and also Dr. M. Ravindra Babu, Sr. Scientist (Hort.), HRS,
Venkataramannagudem delivered a lecture on different technologies
suitable for funding from banks for establishing own enterprise for
self-employment for an individual.
Forty farmers from Srikakulam district under district level training
programme organized by P.D. ATMA, Srikakulam district visited
KVK, Venkataramannagudem on an exposure visit. They were
briefed by the scientists on latest production technologies including
azolla production, vermi composting, milch animal shed, soil testing
lab and bio-control lab on 08.02.2019.

Forty farmers from Chhattisgarh visited KVK, Venkataramannagudem
on 15.02.2019 as a part of their exposure visit under district level
training programme organized by ATMA. They have visited nursery,
azolla production unit, vermicompost unit and apiary.
On 02.02.2019, KVK, Venkataramannagudem scientists conducted an
exposure visit to 130 students of IXth class from Z.P.High School. They
have visited demonstration units at KVK including nursery, azolla
production unit, poultry shed, apiary and vermi composting unit. And
also visited CEPC, Buffalo Research Station and HRS, Venkataramanna-
gudem.
On 15.02.2019, KVK, Venkataramannagudem conducted an
exposure visit to Pamarru and Gudlavalleru farmers in support with
ATMA. In this program, more than 80 farmers have participated and
visited different demonstration plots of KVK like Poultry shed,
Vermi compost unit, Bee keeping unit, Nursery, Buffalo research
station and HRS.
