Presentation of the CFTMC

Established in 1989, the Mine and Quarry Technical Training

Centre (CFTMC) is a non-for profit organization

under 1901 law (NDT : french non for profit regulation)

All of New Caledonia's mining companies are on the CFTMC board.

The first training started in March 1990.

Its facilities are on a mining concession which is owned by

SLN (NDT : Société Le Nickel) and thus provides the trainees with real

work situations.

Administration and base camp

The Management and Administration offices, the canteen,

accommodations and sports facilities are located at the

foot of the mine, in the centre of the Poro village.

-Training sessions - Perform beginning and end of shift operations on a backhoe loader, perform daily or first level periodic maintenance operations and checks

- Excavate a trench with a backhoe loader (double level, double slope, etc.).

- Dig a ditch with a backhoe loader with a trapezoidal bucket and a ditch dredging bucket

- Perform earthworks for a structure with a backhoe loader and load transport equipment
