General Disabilities

disabilities. It offers advice and services that are beneficial to each family.

Activities• Activity 1: Introduce a variety of disabilities to

students through books, pictures, and dolls.

• Activity 2: Invite a person with a disability to your classroom to answer questions students might have.

• Activity 1: Start a class discussion by prompting the class with the question “How do you think your life would be different if you were born as the opposite sex?” Give each child a chance to answer.

• Read books to the students that educate them on stereotyping. Explain that the word stereotype is an unfair belief that a girl/woman or boy/man can only act in one way, instead of having choices.
