Lessons learnt• Never argue• Never justify mistakes• Value each second of time• Do not interrupt when someone is talking • Do not try to clarify your position immediately• Write it down, you’ll forget• DO NOT disturb people during their breaks• Be extra patient with seniors• No matter what, MAINTAIN your calm• DO NOT try to be over-helpful/over smart• Choose your words carefully• Minimize your words• Write to the point-BREVITY is important• Be tactful

Overall experience• Rewarding• Chance to live Canadian work culture• Learnt Canadian work ethic• It’s a challenging position• Oneness of the Canadian Healthcare System• Understood the structure of the system• Great foot in-the-door opportunity

Have been offered a part time position

Things different from India

Almost everything

Work culture Mannerism Formal environment-mean business Time is supreme in importance Payment- no credits here Tests, scans take forever here Healthcare is more accessible there Variety is available System is more approachable

Recommendations• More responsible role would be better• Was just plain office work- should be more challenging• Healthcare experience could have been used• “Follow exact same way” discourages innovation• ‘Routine’ work- should be less monotonous• More meaningful placement required

Grateful for the experience
