For Profit Concepts for a Non-Profit Organization
Non-profits have traditionally focused on their mission and often see a focus on anything business or money related as "selling out". However, enlightened non-profits recognize that adopting for profit concepts and practices will give them an edge and will actually help them better fund and reinforce their mission. Concepts such as strategic focus and thinking, timely and robust reporting, meaningful performance metrics and effective recruiting and retention practices all help to ensure a strong, successful non-profit organization.

Finance Transformation: The Real Challenge
The finance function has evolved over time from a traditional role of bookings and controls to a more strategic one. Today, a CFO that supervises large groups of transactional activities such as accounting, payables or collections is the exception rather than the rule.
Finance transformation has been a constant in the CFOs agenda. Cost reduction is one of the key motivators driving this transformation. What has not changed in this transformation is the accountability of the CFO. However, a different set of skills is now expected from a CFO. They should be someone that can be a true partner to the business, someone that can play a more strategic role in the organization.
