Bill Gates & Warren Buffet didn't achieve their success and notoriety overnight, and
Berkshire Hathaway didn't become a giant conglomerate by building a single company.
Buffet today serves as the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. Inc, an international holdings
company that currently owns GEICO, See's Candies, Executive Jet, Dairy Queen, The
Pampered Chef, Benjamin Moore Paints, and a number of other well-known and profitable
businesses.

I am glad that Consultancy Development Centre (CDC) has successfully completed 25 years of service to the consulting community for the development and promotion of consultancy capabilities in the country, and is commemorating its Silver Jubilee in
Page 69 of 73
January, 2011. On this occasion, CDC is also organizing a Panel Discussion on “Future Trends in Consulting Services – Innovative Strategies” on 15th January, 2011 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
The theme of the Session is aptly chosen. In this changing global economic scenario, the consulting industry needs to seek the innovations and respond creatively to the changing needs of clients, leading to the growth of a thriving industry.
The role of innovation for consulting firms should continue to increase, not only in how to add value for the clients, but also in how to structure the practices to implement such innovative strategies.
I am sure, the Session would bring out issues and concerns of the consultants/consultancy organizations for future growth and development of the profession and the recommendations would help in evolving a future road map for emphasizing the role of consultancy service in this emerging economy.
CDC being an autonomous institution of Govt., has a catalytic role in creating large pool of qualified and trained consulting professionals, maintaining databases, producing publications and reports besides providing directions for policy formulations in service sector through studies and research.
I wish CDC great success and extend my warm greetings to all CDC stake holders for a collaborative future.
