Abstract

Standardizing Raven progressive matrices test – ordinarylevel on the age category 0f (16-18 ) year in Saudia Arabia

Mu'tah University

This study aimed at standardizing raven progressive matrices test-ordinary level-on the age category of (16-18) in Saudi society, so as to beused as a non verbal intelligence test in Saudi Arabia.

Test retest and internal consistency reliability were (0.90 & 0.92)respectively, and criterion related validity using Beta-III test as a criterionwas (.53) .

factor analysis using a sample of (1339) male and female studentsshowed a single general factor (G) explained 58% of the test variance. Two way ANOVA was used to investigate the effect of gender andage in the performance of the sample on the test . The result showed nostatistically - significant effect, these results led to one nor wed groupwhich was the study sample as a whole .the raw scores were thentransformed to norma scores (z-scores), and percentail rank for each score,was computed ,the raw scores were also transformed to scores with meanequal (100) and standard deviation of (15) like (IQ) wechesler test scores.
