The Canterbury Diocesan Board of Education (CDBE) is engaged in ministry with children and young people across the Diocese of Can-terbury, whether in schools or parishes, focusing firmly on deepening relationships and nourishing those we support and walk alongside. In particular, we endeavour to engage closely with Church of England schools as they strive to provide a high quality Christian education which enables every child to flourish; providing first-rate profession-al advocacy, advice and support that represents excellent value for money.
Changes In the ever-evolving educational landscape we delight in new con-nections and relationships, and are pleased to share our new virtu-al training and resources offer to benefit all schools, academies and collaborative networks within our diocesan boundaries. You will find a mixture of pre-recorded and live virtual forum training in terms 1 and 2. These will continue in 2021 for some courses and we will gradually phase in face to face training in accordance with DFE and DHSC guidelines. The courses will be available to book from Term 1, 2020 via the online link in this brochure. Schools should note that recorded training will still be time sensitive and will not be able to be downloaded or shared with non– attendees.
Bespoke training in addition to this core offer is also available. Please contact Niki Paterson (Deputy Director of Education) to dis-cuss your training needs on:
• Collective Worship, Children’s Spirituality , Wellbeing for school leaders ,School Effectiveness, Character Education
• Distinctive Governance, senior leadership development including CEPQH, coaching and supervision

Training information Cost : For most courses and events, two prices are shown: ‘CSC’ refers to those Church Schools who make a contribution to our annual ‘Core Services’ scheme,. ’Non-CSC’ is all other schools and academies.
We are mindful that school are under exceptional financial pressure and therefore, we have decided for a second year not to increase our charges for training . The virtual platform has , however, enabled us to provide a wider variety of training content.
Please note that all prices exclude VAT; invoices will be sent in the name of our trading company, ‘ethos School Improvement Limited’.
Booking is essential so that we can monitor our support and provide confirmation to SIAMS inspectors .
Participants are asked to give at least 48 hours’ notice if they need to cancel their place, as all ‘no-shows’ will be charged at the Non-CSC rate.
Please contact Pip Tanton in the first instance.
