*The first complete Babbage Engine was completed in London in 2002, 153 years after it was designed.

*Difference Engine No.2, built faithfully to the original drawings, consists of 8,000 parts, weighs five tons, and measures 11 feet long.

Childhood

*Was born in London, England December 26,1791.

*Suffered from many childhood illnesses, which forced his family to send him to a clergy operated school for special care.

*Had a wealthy father that wished to further his education.

*Showed considerable talent in Mathematics.

Death* Charles Babbage died October

18th,1871 in London U.K.*Charles Babbage died when he was

only 79 years old.*Charles Babbage died because of

renal inadequacy, secondary to cystitis.
