•5 step Ultrasonic degreasing device is used for surface cleaning of stainless steel and aluminium parts with alkaline chemicals.

•Asid pickling process is also applied for copper, copper alloys, titanium alloys etc.

6.3. CLEANROOM50m2 of class 1000 (IS0 6) for assembly before brazing and helium testing and 200 m2 of cl.10.000 (ISO 7) cleanroom for helium & other testing operations.

OFE Cu, Cu-Ni, Inconel, Stainless steel (304/304L/316/316L), titanium alloys G5/G2; MoMn Metallised Ceramics, Sapphire;Cusil, Cusil ABA, Incusil, Incusil ABA brazed at vacuum with wide diversity of brazing alloys according to products and customers’ needs.

Au80Sn soldering alloy will be offered for vacuum brazing item.

VACUUM TECHNOLOGY

High Vacuum Brazing Furnace working with diffusion pump made by Sevenstar equipped with diffusion pump of Varian HS-32.

Dimensions of furnace is 0,7m x 0,7m x 1m and actual working zone is 0,5 m3@ 10^-6 mbar.

Vacuum brazing furnace is installed in cl. 1.000 cleanroom.

3.5.1. HELIUM LEAK DETECTORHelium leak testing is done with Pfeiffer make Smarttest HLT 560.

3.5.2. LEAK TESTING

•Reactive injection moulded Epoxy vessels are regularly tested under hydraulic pressure of 20 bars with hydraulic device and sensors & software. This unit is considered to be used in water integrity-leak testing at 10 bars with additional water supply in ISOLDE project.

of the ISOLDE Target

HIGH POWER TARGETS FOR RADIOACTIVE ION BEAMS

Deliverables and activities included in the Supply

The Supply includes:

• Production of a Type 2 prototype vacuum vessel;

• Manufacturing, assembly, testing and delivery to CERN;

• Welding and brazing samples;

• Full test, inspection and quality control documentation in paper and electronic formats (see § 4.2);

• Material certification showing chemical composition and mechanical properties of all materials;

• Packing, and transport if requested by CERN (see § 4.4).

The series production shall in all cases be preceded by the production of one prototype of a Type 1 vacuum vessel. Production of the series shall not start before CERN has given its formal approval of the prototype in writing.
