Among the setting of naturaltrees and flowers , Miss PamelaLynn Nelson, daughter of Mr. andMrs . Robert C. Nelson of NorthFirst Street , Bethpage, becamethe bride of Roger A. Scanlon, sonof Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Orobelloof South Howells Point Road,Bellport on August 17 at 4 p.m. atthe home of the groom's parents.The Rev. James Taylor officiatedat the ceremony.

The bride who was given inmarriage by her father wore awhite mericaine jersey gownwith a V neckline and a flouncecollar. The long sleeves and thehemline of the skirt weretrimmed with a ruffled edge. Shewore a large picture hat trimmedwith fern and a flower. Shecarried a cascade of whitecaliopsis orchids, stephanotis andyellow and melon minicarnations, with fern.

The maid-of-honor was MissJane Jaurequi of Bethpage. Thebridesmaids were Miss Helene

Pomeroy of Roscoe, N.Y., MissSharon Gelfand of Plainview , andMrs. Deborah Miller of Elwood.The flower girl was MissLorraince Pomeroy of Roscoe,N.Y. The ring bearer was P.J.Pomeroy of Roscoe, N.Y.

The best man was Louis Gigi ofMerrick. The ushers were DavidKlein of Baldwin , Daniel Boikessof Levittown and Rusty Pomeroyof Roscoe, N.Y.

Following the gardenceremony a reception was heldwith Joel Sands Orchestraproviding the music. After across country trip the couple areresiding in Dellport.

The bride is a graduate ofBethpage High School andNassau Community College. Thegroom is a graduate of John F.Kennedy High School, NassauCommunity College and DelhiTech. The bride is employed as areceptionist and the groom is acarpenter,

Miss Margaret O'Prey,daughter of Mrs ElizabethO'Prey of Hunting ton and the lateDavid O'Prey, was united inmarriage with James Barbanell,son of Mrs. Blanche Barbanell of5 Chapel Avenue, Brookhaven,and the late Louis Barbanell , onSaturday evening at thePatchogue Village Hall.Patchogue Village Justice PhilipRogers officiated at theceremony.

Serving as matron-of-honor forthe bride was Mrs. MaryWagenhausen of Greenlawn ,sister of the bride .

The two best men were MurrayFink of Brookhaven , brother-in-law of the groom , and AlexanderBarbanell of Scottsdale, Arizona ,the groom's brother .

Following the weddingceremony a reception was held atthe home of a sister of the bride,Mrs . Arnold Stilwell ofGreenlawn.

The couple will now make theirhome in Hauppauge..The bride is a graduate of

Huntington High School and is incharge of the legal department atThe Long Islander , a weeklynewspaper in Huntington . Thegroom is a graduate of Bellpor tHigh School and formerly aresident of Brookhaven andPatchogue. He was employed asa newsman at The Advance from1969 to 1973 and is presentlyemployed as sports editor of TheLong Islander .

Mr. and Mrs. Abraham R.Kleinman of Patchogue announcethe engagement of theirdaughter , Karen , to JerryFeldman, son of Mr. and Mrs.Mickey Feldman of MiddleVillage.

Miss Kleinman is a graduate ofPatchogue High School and agraduate of the State UniversityCollege at Cortland , New YorkShe is presently employed as ateacher in the South OceanAvenue Jr. High School.

Mr. Feldman is a graduate ofQueens College and is employedas a teacher in the New York CitySchool System.

Bellport was the setting for theAugust 24 wedding of MissBarbara Newton , daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Wilbur Newton of 366South Country Road , EastPatchogue, and Robert E. WayteJr., son of Mr. and Mrs. RobertE. Wayte Sr., of 29 NorthBrewster Lane, Bellport. Theceremony was performed byFather Herber t Thompson.

Escor ted to the altar by herfather , the bride wore a gown ofwhite satin accented with a pinkribbon and flowing to a chapellength train. She carried abouquet of pink roses, baby'sbreath and stephanotis.

The bride chose as her matronof honor Mrs. Tina Suydam ofEast Patchogue. Miss GaleNewton of Denville, N.J. ; andMiss Cindy Chester of EastPatchogue were bridesmaids.Miss Tracy Creasy of Shirley wasjunior bridesmaid and Miss

Michele Mistier of Brookhavenwas flower girl.

Best man was Danny Bianchiof Bellport. Perry Wayte, brotherof the groom, and John Newton ,brother of the bride, served asushers. Scott Wayte of Bellportand Mark Suydam of EastPatchogue were chosen as juniorushers. Peter DiDio of Bellpor twas ring bearer .

A cocktail hour and gardenreception followed the weddingceremony at the home of thebride's parents. After a weddingtrip to Montauk , the couple willmake their home in EastPatchogue.

The bride and groom are bothgraduates of Bellport HighSchool. The bride is employed asa licensed practical nurse at OakHollow Nursing Center , MiddleIsland. The groom is employedby Suffolk County, Yaphank, ingeneral services.

BRIDAL PORTRAIT of Mrs. Joseph Vernon who was married Sept. 28at St. Mary of the Isle R.C. Church in Long Beach. The bride is thedaughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Lynn Bowen of Valley Stream. Theparents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vernon of Blue Point.
