If a book has no title page, use the cover, the half-title page or the caption…
TITLE Transcribe the title
proper just as it appears in the title page (chief source of information)
Transcribe exactly all the words of the title proper = do not omit any words
Items lacking a title = the cataloguer can make up a title for an item but MUST put it in [brackets]

When more than 3 authors have the same function, give only the first name followed by “…[et al.]”

If the cataloguer can’t find a date in the item, he/she has to guess…and has to display the date as = [1971 or 1972], [1969?], [ca. 1960], [197-], etc.
