Dear Al-Iman Families
and Friends,
Assalaam-o-Alaikum -
WarehmatuAllahhi –

We hope and pray that this
newsletter finds you in the
best of imaan and health.
Alhumdulillah we are now
in our second quarter, our
students have adjusted to
the school environment
and understood our expec-
tations. We have very high
expectations from our stu-
dents when it comes to
behavior, our mission is to
provide our students an
Islamic environment
where practicing the deen
is our main focus. We
urge parents to spend
quality time with their
children and discuss Is-
lamic values and eti-

His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and

Our teachers have started
scheduling conferences
with parents to discuss
students’ performance
both academically and

tact your child’s teacher
(s) if you would like to
meet with them via email
or call the front office to
schedule an appointment.
We request parents to
follow our school poli-
cies and procedures re-
garding visiting class-
rooms and meeting teach-
ers. Please sign in at the
front office on the third
floor if you have a sched-
uled meeting with your
child’s teacher, or you
want to visit your child’s
classroom. As per our

a parent must schedule an
appointment to either meet

This helps the teacher to
schedule a meeting during

(A Note continued)
We strongly urge parents to avoid proving
cell phones/iPods to their children during
school hours; it becomes extremely difficult
for us to monitor their activity during school
hours. The school will not take any responsi-
bility in case any electronic gadget is lost or
misused. In case of emergency, the school
will contact the parents and if a child needs
to contact his/her parents they are allowed to
use the front office phone.
Although we do encourage teachers to integrate technology
with their core curriculum, at the same time we strictly moni-
tor our students’ use of technology. We strongly encourage
parents to monitor their child’s children’s interaction with
technology.
Lastly we want to congratulate our Middle School Honor
Roll Students and Elementary Students for their first quarter
accomplishments! Insha’Allah we look forward to many
more success stories in the quarters to come.
Sincerely,
M.Jabeen

3rd Graders go to camp! For the past week Third Graders have been eating S'mores and Trailmix, and warming themselves by the "fire".
There are tents everywhere! 3rd Grades A and B have been attending camp, Typing Camp! They are learning to
type as they wear their camp T-shirts and headphones. Using an online website found on BBC's web-
site, http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/, they practiced typing without looking at the keyboards. They have
also explored Microsoft Word. Teachers, Sis. Alia, Sis. Asna, and Sis. Aishia along with the help of dedicated
parent, Sis. Barbara, have set the stage for learning, bringing the fun of outdoors in with the week long camp.

area attractions and restaurants. The money raised will be used to replace the swings on the playground. If you have already returned
your book, you can still send in the money in an envelope with your child`s name on it and your book will be returned to you.

UPDATES ON RECENT ACTIVITIES
Roller Skating Eid Celebration at Jellybeans. Everyone had a wonderful time celebrating and skating at Jellybeans. 144 people
attended and we raised $288 for the PTSO. The PTSO used these funds for the Eid goody bags that were distributed to all Al-Iman
students on Friday, November 11th and to help pay for some of the Hajj Fair expenses.
Community Family Game Night Was a big success for the community. We had a large turnout with lots of popcorn and games as
well as a talk from the Imam about why we as Muslims do not celebrate Halloween.
Hajj Fair The Hajj Fair was a fun education success. Students and parents were able to re-enact the rites of Hajj and learn all about
the process. Students were able to cap off their Hajj experience by feeding and petting a live sheep.
