(A Note continued)

We strongly urge parents to avoid proving

cell phones/iPods to their children during

school hours; it becomes extremely difficult

for us to monitor their activity during school

hours. The school will not take any responsi-

bility in case any electronic gadget is lost or

misused. In case of emergency, the school

will contact the parents and if a child needs

to contact his/her parents they are allowed to

use the front office phone.

Although we do encourage teachers to integrate technology

with their core curriculum, at the same time we strictly moni-

tor our students’ use of technology. We strongly encourage

parents to monitor their child’s children’s interaction with

technology.

Lastly we want to congratulate our Middle School Honor

Roll Students and Elementary Students for their first quarter

accomplishments! Insha’Allah we look forward to many

more success stories in the quarters to come.

Sincerely,

M.Jabeen

Over 1,000 items were donated

to the masjid Food Pantry by Al-

Iman School students and fami-

lies. May Allah reward everyone.

3rd Graders go to camp! For the past week Third Graders have been eating S'mores and Trailmix, and warming themselves by the "fire".

There are tents everywhere! 3rd Grades A and B have been attending camp, Typing Camp! They are learning to

type as they wear their camp T-shirts and headphones. Using an online website found on BBC's web-

site, http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/, they practiced typing without looking at the keyboards. They have

also explored Microsoft Word. Teachers, Sis. Alia, Sis. Asna, and Sis. Aishia along with the help of dedicated

parent, Sis. Barbara, have set the stage for learning, bringing the fun of outdoors in with the week long camp.

sell themselves. On pg. 117 you will find four $5.00 off Kroger coupons that you can use at Kroger and will also be accepted at Harris

Teeter. These grocery store coupons alone are worth $20 and will almost cover the cost of the book. Please reconsider buying at least

one book for $25. The Al-Iman PTSO will receive back $11 per book sold. These books also have many merchant coupons for local

area attractions and restaurants. The money raised will be used to replace the swings on the playground. If you have already returned

your book, you can still send in the money in an envelope with your child`s name on it and your book will be returned to you.

UPCOMING EVENTS

UPDATES ON RECENT ACTIVITIES

Roller Skating Eid Celebration at Jellybeans. Everyone had a wonderful time celebrating and skating at Jellybeans. 144 people

attended and we raised $288 for the PTSO. The PTSO used these funds for the Eid goody bags that were distributed to all Al-Iman

students on Friday, November 11th and to help pay for some of the Hajj Fair expenses.

Community Family Game Night Was a big success for the community. We had a large turnout with lots of popcorn and games as

well as a talk from the Imam about why we as Muslims do not celebrate Halloween.

Hajj Fair The Hajj Fair was a fun education success. Students and parents were able to re-enact the rites of Hajj and learn all about

the process. Students were able to cap off their Hajj experience by feeding and petting a live sheep.

Please visit the PTSO webpage at: www.elimanschool.org/ptso

If you have any comments, questions, or would like to volunteer please contact Sr. Barbara AbdalQader at 919-225-7336 or Bar-
