The Goleta Valley Senior Center is the perfect
place to meet people and enrich your life. We are the hub for activities, infor-mation and services that are specifically geared towards adults 50 years and older.
As a part of our low-cost
annual membership we
offer line dance and chair
yoga classes designed for
active Seniors. There are
many other adult fitness
programs offered at the
GVCC that are not neces-
sarily directed to Seniors
such as Zumba Gold, yoga,
dance (tap, swing & jazz,
flamenco, belly dance).
Additionally, there are op-
portunities to participate in
card games, knitting/
crochet/quilting/
embroidery groups and
porcelain painting.
Membership is easy, you simply need to be 50
years or older, complete a membership application (located at the front desk) and pay your $10 membership fee.

Advocating for seniors is one of the key roles of
the Area Agency on Aging. We work to represent the interests of older adults by educating public officials, consumer advocates and the community about older adult needs. We monitor proposed legislation and polices at the federal,
state and local levels, with an emphasis on health, housing, transportation, income supports, consumer protection and long term care.
You can become a voice for seniors in our
region by joining our Senior Advocacy Network (SAN).
Advisory Council Mem-ber– Volunteers are need-ed to represent local sen-iors on policy matters at all level of governent. Council members attend monthly meetings and participate in committees that make rec-ommendations on policy matters.
AARP is once again offering free income tax return preparation for Seniors.
Starting on February 2 through April 13, come in on any Friday between 9:00
a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and they will help you on a first-come first-served basis.
Be sure to bring all of your information with you.

Our annual Christmas
Party here at the Senior
Center was a huge success.
Over 70 folks attended, a
merry time was had by all!
There was a delicious buffet,
live music, a lot of dancing,
door prizes.
We also collected 65 pairs of
socks to donate to those in
need. Thanks everyone!
