Push Ups, 318 Air Squat and
finished with another Team
800m run. G3 team which in-
cluded CPT Modlin, MSG
Musnicki, CPT Law, MSG
Swords and CPT Wrighten had
the honors of lifting the coveted
35lb Kettle Bell triumphantly
with
an
over-
all
time
just
under
22 minutes.
All Soldiers left the games
feeling accomplished with
an increase espirit-de-corps,
teamwork and sense of
pride within their sections,
the unit and themselves.
Loud music, unit T-shirts,
excitement and anxiety
ran high at the quarterly
Pacific Knights games. Lt
Sturgeon from G1 and
MSG Cowden from Clini-
cal Services spearheaded a
morning of various exer-
cises that mimicked the
fitness craze Cross Fit,
which optimizes fitness
with constantly varied
functional movements
performed at relatively
high intensity. The intent
of this quarter’s game as
always would increase
espirit-de-corps, resil-
iency, teamwork, and the
18th MEDCOM (DS)
community that spontane-
ously arises when Soldiers
do these workouts to-
gether. The games con-
sisted of eight teams made
up of five Soldiers per
team. At Station # 1,
Teams focused on reps of
6 Pull Ups, 6 KB Swings,
6 Toes to Bar, 6 Air
Squats and 6 Burpee Bar
within 12 minutes. At
Station # 2, Teams fo-
cused on rounds of a
200m Run, Jumping
Lunge, Push Press, Med
Ball Slams and Hand Re-
lease Push Ups. After
station # 1 and # 2 were
complete G3, G6, HHC
and the Command Team
reached the final round.
The final round was a
heartbreaker and a gut
check for these teams. It
consisted a 800m run, 118
Box Jumps, 218 Elevated

QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER Volume 1, Issue 2
Commander’s Corner
Aloha Pacific Knights and
Families!
This will be my last news-
letter as the HHC Com-
pany Commander, as I am
due to change command
in May. Rosa and I would
like to thank all the Sol-
diers and their Families
for their hard work and
support over the last 26
months. We have learned
so much and have thor-
oughly enjoyed my time
in command. I will miss
the Soldiers, Civilians,
and Families of the 18th
MEDCOM (DS) and wish
you all the best in the
months ahead.
Our unit has had many
transitions over the past
few months and expect
more transition over the
next few months. I’m
confident that our Soldiers
will continue to move 18th
MEDCOM (DS) forward
well into the future. Con-
gratulate your Soldiers on
a job well done on our
most recent Command
Inspection, they truly
shined!
Army life can be stressful
for Soldiers and Families.
The 18th MEDCOM (DS)
has a Military & Family
Life Consultant (MFLC)
assigned to us to provide
assistance in dealing with
the stresses of military
life. The MFLC is a li-
censed clinical counselor

term, situational, problem-
solving counseling ser-
vices to our Active Duty
and Reserve Soldiers and
Families. Services are
